How Many Dog Tags Are There and Where to Find Them in DREDGE – Location Guide

Something to identify those we lost along the way

With so many items to find and dredge in this Fishing Horror Game, it can get difficult determining each item’s value. As you will have limited Cargo Hold space throughout your expedition, players need to be mindful of what should and should not be sold to vendors. Whilst you can increase your income and get rid of any unwanted goods, you too can accidently overlook valuable goods needed for completing Pursuits. One of these items is the Dog Tag, demonstrating that soldiers have previously crash landed on Twisted Strand, either succumbing to the crash or swept away by the monsters that lurk below. With all that remains are those Tags with the identity of those that have fallen, this is our guide on where to find and use Dog Tags in DREDGE.

The Purpose of Dog Tags in DREDGE

Dog Tags are one of the many collectible items found in DREDGE. But what is their purpose? Whilst a lot of Dog Tags are used throughout Video Games as a form of identification of other players in a PvP setting such as Call of Duty’s DMZ or as a reward for a specific kill in Battlefield, the use of Dog Tags in DREDGE tells another tale. Whilst many may wonder why collecting Dog Tags would be important in a Fishing Simulator turned Horror Game, having these collected can offer a reward to those who find them all through their explorations. But you will not know what these are used for until you converse with the Airman.

If you have not found the Airman yet, he is a Collector, located within the Twisted Strands itself. You will find him on land at the Camp, located at the very centre of this Region in DREDGE. There are many Pursuits that can be done with him which include upgrading specific Boat Parts. It is highly useful to go to him whenever you get the chance and complete his Pursuits so you can upgrade your Boat Abilities. Keep in mind however that he will not tell you about the Dog Tags as it is one of those unspoken Pursuits that you need to complete for yourself before you can approach him with your Dog Tags to reap the rewards.

Where to Find Dog Tags

So how many Dog Tags are there to find within Twisted Strand? There are a total of 4 you need to find and are only located within Twisted Strand itself, which makes sense for you needed to return these to the DREDGE Collector, Airman. The Dog Tags are found in close proximity with the crashed and submerged Airplanes of Twisted Strand. Keep track of how many you have located for this unspoken Pursuits and be sure to never sell any you find as you need to take all 4 to the Airman to get the reward. Refer to the screenshot below with all Dog Tag locations in DREDGE (red marks on the Map).

The Twisted Strand has a swampy biome that can be hard to navigate around due to the mass quantity of twists and turns. Be sure to take the path slow to ensure that you are not hitting any wreckage or giant roots in the water which will damage the Boat’s Hull. Once you have collected all 4 Dog Tags referring to the screenshot above as your location guide, return to the Airman in the Camp and give these to the Collector to obtain a Research Part. This is a quick method of getting a Research Part and one that should definitely be done if you have not previously sold a Dog Tag to another vendor.

That was our guide on where to find Dog Tags in DREDGE and what to use them for once you have collected all 4. We hope this guide was helpful for obtaining a useful and easy-to-obtain Research Part. For more DREDGE guides, feel free to check out Gamer Journalist.
