Fossil Island is a members only location that was introduced to Old School Runescape in 2017. Getting to the island is simple enough, but there are some people out there, who aren’t sure where to go. There are a few ways you can gain access to the dig site. Once you have found a way to the island you’re probably going to want to explore the region. The island itself offers various ways to build skills, chances to earn rewards from mini tasks, and introduce the Wyvern Cave to help complete Slayer tasks. This guide will teach you how to get to Fossil Island in Old School Runescape.
How to access Fossil Island in OSRS
There are a few ways you can gain access to the island. One of the ways you can get there is by using a dig site pendant. When you use the dig site pendant you will be able to teleport to the barge. After you arrive you need to speak to the barge guard for a quick teleport. Another teleportation route from using the pendant is by using the pendant on a strange machine located in the southernmost house on a hill. You can unlock a new travel option that will teleport you inside the house. If you’re not looking to use a dig site pendant you can always try the glider transportation system or the spirit tree transportation.
If you’re going to use the spirt tree transportation system you’re going to want to teleport to grand exchange and use the spirit tree. From there you will teleport to the Gnome Stronghold. When you’re at the Gnome Stronghold climb up a tree to use the glider. Take the glider to a location option titled ‘Lemanto Andra’. You can also use the fairy ring system by using the code AKS or a ring of dueling where you can teleport to locations close to the dig site. If you want to use a ring of dueling be sure to teleport to a PvP arena and then head for the gnome glider in Al Kharid.

Things to do on Fossil Island in OSRS
There are a number of things you can do on Fossil Island. The main activity people usually go to the island for is if they have a slayer task to defeat Wyverns. There are a few different Wyverns you can defeat in this cave and they are: Spitting Wyverns, Taloned Wyverns, Long-tailed Wyverns, and Ancient Wyvern. Careful, they’re high level and they can be assigned as a task. Another highlight that Fossil Island has to offer are the Zygmoites that roam around Mushroom Forest. These monsters are part of slayer tasks as well. You can also train farming by planting teak and mahogany trees in the three patches, discover fossils to add to your Fossil Island note book, and explore the depths underwater with your fishbowl helmet and diving apparatus to find more secrets.
