How Do Upgrades Work in Arcade Paradise?

During the very early stages of Arcade Paradise, your main goal will be to work your laundrette in order to even get your arcade off the ground. The first few days in the game will be solely dedicated to this, but once you expand the arcade portion of the building beyond its storage room origins there’s even more to accomplish. This is attainable after having obtained a fifth arcade cabinet. Once you’ve received it, you’ll then be given the green light to purchase an expansion that grants you access to 2 new game mechanics.

The first mechanic that directly ties into the upgrades portion of the game is the to-dos. These are given to you by Ash’s father. To-dos are menial tasks that can be completed and are switched out daily. They can be as easy as just playing specific games that day or be as impactful as purposely ignoring the laundrette for the day. They’re all well and good but can definitely get in the way of you actually making money to purchase more arcade cabinets. Fortunately, these to-dos give you an alternative to the regular cash in the game. Instead, you’ll earn Pounds Sterling which can be redeemed via the PC in the manager’s office for upgrades.

Getting into the upgrades, they’re pretty much in-game cheats. There are quite a few to unlock and range heavily in price as well. There are some that can improve your character’s speed, improve the ease of the work mechanics, get you more customers, or even allow you to ignore some tasks altogether. They’re purchased through their own site on the computer, aptly titled “Upgrades”. It’s also important to note that once you’ve unlocked upgrades you can actually toggle them on and off from that phone screen marked upgrades. They’re great improvements to gameplay that really are worth purchasing once you get further into the game. Money is the main point when starting out, so anything that can make things easier is really valuable.

So that’s all there is to upgrades in Arcade Paradise. While unlocking them can be quite a task, they really are worth it in the end.
