Honkai: Star Rail – Can You Play with Friends?

Beating down bosses is always better with buddies!

Honkai: Star Rail is one of the most recent games to be released by miHoYo, and even before it’s officially been released, it already looks like it’s going to be a banger. If you liked miHoYo’s other games, like Genshin Impact or Honkai Impact 3rd, then you’ll love playing Honkai: Star Rail!

Players of Honkai Impact 3rd were huge fans of the in-game multiplayer options, so it stands to reason that people would like to see more of the same options in Honkai: Star Rail. Keep reading to find out if you can play with your friends in Honkai: Star Rail!

Can You Play with Friends in Honkai: Star Rail?

If you were hoping to get down on some Honkai: Star Rail with your friends when it came out, then you’re probably going to be pretty disappointed. This game doesn’t have any multiplayer capabilities, which means you won’t be playing Honkai: Star Rail with your friends anytime soon.

This is a pretty big bummer, since Honkai: Star Rail seems like the perfect game for co-op. This game may not have a co-op feature, but it does have something similar that may help ease the burn of not being able to play it with others.

The game won’t have PvE multiplayer options like Genshin Impact does, but it will feature a friends list. Granted, the friends list honestly doesn’t do much, but it’s still better than nothing. In Honkai: Star Rail, you’re able to add players as friends in the game and use their units in battles.

This will help immensely in the absence of multiplayer options, though it’s still admittedly not as cool as taking down bosses with your buddies. So, to sum it all up: you can add your friends to the game to use their units in battle, but you won’t be able to take on bosses with your buddies by your side.

When Does Honkai: Star Rail Release?

Thankfully, you won’t have to wait too much longer to get your hands on this game! Honkai: Star Rail should officially release on April 26th, 2023, and be available on Android, Microsoft Windows, and iOS. Although it will only be available on a handful of platforms at launch, there have been rumors that it will be adapted for other platforms soon after.

Despite Honkai: Star Rail’s status as a top-tier adventure RPG, this game will be completely free-to-play! You won’t have to worry about taking out a loan just to play it, like many of the other RPGs that came out this year. Have fun kicking some anime ass once you get your hands on this game!
