Make yourself at home!

Even though the rate at which Hogwarts Legacy is gaining popularity in the gaming world is certainly astounding and impressive, a deeper look at the game reveals that its meteoric success is not all that unexpected to those experienced in video games. This single-player fantasy game, produced by Avalanche Studios and based in the Wizard World first imagined by J.K. Rowling, gives players access to everything they could possibly want in Harry Potter and more. Set in the 1800s, players may attend Hogwarts as young witches and wizards and learn about several fields of wizardry, including how to perform charms, make concoctions, and manage a variety of magical species.

One of the things that Hogwarts Legacy takes from the original Harry Potter series, among many of the locations at Hogwarts, is the famed Room of Requirement. You are able to store the beasts you capture here, as well as keep and cultivate plants for potion ingredients in this room. With the importance of this feature to the player’s progress in mind, we created this guide on upgrading the Room of Requirement in Hogwarts Legacy.

To unlock and upgrade rooms and other things in your Room of Requirement, the main objective needed is to progress in the story. This holds true for most upgrades, and also includes new conjuration recipes. For example, to expand your Room of Requirement by adding new rooms, you need to complete main story missions. There are no quicker ways to unlock more rooms without doing this, and thus you must simply play on through the story.

For cosmetics and new items in the Room of Requirement, head to Hogsmeade and look for the Tomes & Scrolls shop. Once there, the shopkeeper sells many different scrolls which offer you conjuration spellcasts. You can use these to fill your room with essential items such as Large Pots for herbology or potion stands.

Lastly, you can find some cosmetic items for your Room of Requirement in Collection Chests found scattered all around the map of Hogwarts and the Wizarding World. The best part about changing the look of your Room of Requirement is that you start with all of the possible wall, floor and color options. It is free to continually change from one to another, which makes customizing your room all the better!
