There is a total of five categories you will be able to train in Hogwarts Legacy. Core, Spell, Dark Arts, Stealth, and Room of Requirement. They will provide several boosts to your character build, however, if you really want to focus on being the best wizard, which translated on your ability to craft and summon spells, then there are two categories you must focus on: Core, and Spell.
The Core category will focus on improving performance and survivability in combat in general. Being a general category, it will impact positvely on all character types available. Focus con getting Basic Cast Mastery, which will reduce spell cooldowns, as well as Spell Knowledge I, II, and III, each of them adding a new Spell set for you to use. You can also get Stupefy expertise, which allows you to deal direct damage to enemies when you cast this spell. In the case of the Spell category, you can basically pick whichever spell you wish to power up. Diffindo, Incendio, Confringo, and Descendo are all great picks that will not only power up your spells, but fix some limitations that they originally had.
