Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has a lot of ways to interact with friends and potential friends. There’re old staples like trading and battling, which has been around since the first generation. But there’s a new mechanic as well. Tera Raids offers a different take on online battling by having you battle with other trainers to take down a single Pokémon.
How Tera Raids Work in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
While out in the wild you might see glowing rocks. Interacting with them will bring up a menu of whether you want to battle alone or with others. After making your choice, you and your group of three other trainers are brought into a battle.
How to Defeat the Rogue Pokemon in Tera Raids
You take turns trying to defeat the rogue Pokémon. It doesn’t last forever though as there is a time limit. You can use your turn attacking or by using cheer. Using cheer allows for certain boosts like raising your special attack or healing. You won’t be able to attack on the same turn you cheer.
If you faint your Pokémon will be revived, but it will take time to do so while the time limit itself decreases heavily. While fighting, the Pokémon will put up a barrier or other means to defend itself. There’s also no need to worry about lowering the Pokémon’s health enough to catch it.
