God of War Ragnarök: What is a Juicy Nokken?

What is a "juicy"...NO!

While a game titled God of War Rangarök surely conveys epic traits, unforgivable fights and seriousness, not every interaction in the Norse realms is really that important for the future of our protagonists. Sometimes, the game will just taunt us or make us giggle with jokes, references, and from time to time, a little innuendo for us adults to enjoy, or to cringe at. And yeah, this tradition is brought on from God of War (2018) and again introduced thanks to our friends, the Huldra Brothers. They do not only possess the skill and might to make Mjölnir and the Leviathan Axe, but they possess a power not everyone is capable of wielding successfully. They possess the power of comedy. Now, do you really want to know what is a Juicy Nokken? If you’re still here at this point, we might as well duel into, ehm, the darkest and secluded places of the game to answer that question.

What is a Juicy Nokken?

Once we visit Alfheim, we will encounter Sindri just chilling in the sand. By the way, he hates the sand, so maybe we should write an article about Sindri secretly being Anakin Skywalker? Let us know if you want that. Anyway, he talks about being the only Huldra brother allowed in Alfheim after Brok was banned from the realm. After being asked why, Sindri is hesitant to mention Brok’s crime. He asks if either Kratos or Atreus know what a Juicy Nokken is? Then, like a responsible and, quite frankly, decent father, Kratos cuts Atreus while he was about to ask. So we conclude that it is something nasty and taboo.

To put us in context, a Nokken is a water spirit in Norse mythology. It usually lures women and children with some kind of instrument towards it. They will subsequently drown them if the Nokken is malicious. Now, the fact is, that the Nokken take the form of a “natural” human. That is, a naked human form. So one can assume that Brok went commando without any outerwear of any kind. Just his blue self being free for the world to enjoy. Now, I won’t mention the juicy part. Quite frankly, the image of Brok getting “too” excited is one image that I want extracted from my brain. So I’ll leave it to you to process what it really means.
