SpellTower

SpellTower

SpellTower is an interesting Tetris-style word game. Letters will fall from the top down, and you must connect words together. Once words are connected, they will disappear, and the top rows will fall lower. You can make clever combinations and play different modes. Available for iOS and Android.

Absurdle

Absurdle

Absurlde considers itself an adversarial variant of Wordle. The game is played very similarly to Wordle, but the key difference is that the secret word can change after each guess, making the game more difficult overall.

Word Forward

Word Forward

Word Forward is a challenging word puzzle game. It’s laid out closer to a crossword puzzle, but you can swap letter locations and then combine your words. The game is available on Steam, iOS, and the Play Store.

Kitty Letter

Kitty Letter

You’ve probably never played a game like Kitty Letter before. In this game, you use a letter wheel to make the longest possible word. You unleash a kitty army to attack a base when you make a word. The longer the word, the bigger the army. Brought to us from the mind that created “The Oatmeal.” This game is available on iOS and Android.

TypeShift

TypeShift is an anagram-style puzzle game. In this game, you have to create words by sliding letters up and down, resembling a lock combination. TypeShift also has daily puzzles to complete, similar to Wordle. This game is available on both iOS and Android.

Words with Friends

Words with Friends is a classic word game, very similar to Scrabble. In this game, you get to play against other players directly. Score points by placing your letter tiles horizontally or vertically. Get more points than your opponent, and you win. Available for both iOS, Android, and Browser.

Wordscapes

Wordscapes is one of the most popular word games around. In this game, you use a letter wheel to find word combinations to fill in a crossword. You go through increasingly challenging levels and can also make it onto the online leaderboard. Wordscapes is available on Android and iOS.

Letterpress

Letterpress is a two-player word game where players take turns to spell words from a shared board. It’s a unique game that’s quickly gaining popularity. Letterpress is available for both iOS and Android.

Squirdle

If you’re a Pokemon fan, you might love Squirdle. This is a Wordle-style game based entirely on Pokeman. You have a full Pokedex to choose from, and you have to match the Gen, Type 1, Type 2, Height, and Weight of the Pokemon. Squirdle also has a daily challenge similar to Wordle.

Lewdle

Lewdle is basically Wordle except with profanities. If you’re getting bored of Wordle this might be a fun alternative to try out.

Online Lingo

Online Lingo is a Wordle clone that targets younger players. You can choose from five or six-letter words and get hints if you like. You can play this game in any browser.

Hello Wordl

Hello Wordl is more or less a direct clone of Wordle. It’s much more simplified than the standard Wordle and doesn’t have any social sharing. It has some modified features, such as the letter slider, to increase the letter count. You can switch from the daily word or a randomizer as well.

Word Master

Another nearly direct Wordle clone, Word Master has a modified interface but fewer overall features. Still a good option for a quick, simple game.

Wordguessr

Wordguessr is very simple to Wordle, except that you can change the word length before starting.

Wheedle

Wheedle is yet another Wordle clone. This one at least has a different interface to change things up a bit.

Dordle

Dordle is like classic Wordle, but you’ll need to try and solve two words at once. There are twice as many words, but it’s twice as difficult.

Heardle

Heardle is an interesting spinoff where players try and guess a song name and artist. Each incorrect guess gives you another second of the song to listen to.

Quordle

Quordle is like classic Wordle, but with four words to solve simultaneously. It’s as difficult as it sounds, but if you’re up for a challenge, it can be addicting.

Nerdle

Nerdle is a Wordle game for those math wizards and number lovers out there. Instead of guessing words, players will need to guess mathematical equations.

Octordle

Like the original, Octordle has players guessing mystery five-letter words. However, you’ll need to solve eight at once instead of just one.

Poeltl

Poeltl is a Wordle-esque game for sports fans. In this game, players need to try and figure out the NBA player in eight guesses or less.

That’s our list of games similar to Wordle. There are tons more word games and even direct Wordle clones out there, but these are our favorite at the moment. As we discover more games, we will be updating this list. If you have a favorite Wordle-style game you’d like to share with us, please feel free to reach out.
