Does The Unliving Have Co-Op? Answered

Will we raise the dead, together?

The Unliving, Rocket Brush Studios’ first game, has opened the door to the world of the Necromancer. A “villain”, who is the protagonist of our story, commands an army of the death. His goal? To gather certain artifacts after an experiment or rite of sorts went wrong. Being a rogue-lite action RPG with strategy elements (as per the developer’s words), the possibilities of entangling yourself in epic battles and progressing through the game in constant new ways is something that potentially could be very enticing to the player. Although not always, games like these incorporate some sort of co-op mode or a multiplayer PvP experience. This would effectively pitch one player against the other: can you imagine two Necromancers battling with their army of undead soldiers? Sounds really dope. So, does The Unliving have co-op? Let’s find out.

Does The Unliving Have Co-Op?

While there is a lot of content in the game, with the rogue-lite element basically making it a grind to progress through it, one would wonder if there is a separate game mode that would allow the players to engage in a more chaotic, although non-stressful matches against other players. Well, unfortunately, The Unliving does have any multiplayer or co-op mode available yet. Although the developers have stated that that sort of thing could be possible in the future, apparently they are focused on the story and expanding the game. So don’t expect a co-op or multiplayer mode anytime soon.

Don’t be sad though, if you like RPGs and rogue-lites, you could give The Unliving a chance. The aesthetic is quite good and the idea of commanding an army of the undead as a Necromancer is surely something that demands to be tried (in video games, not in real life, please). Hopefully, in the future, you will be able to command the undead with your friends. Now, if that’s not friendship, I don’t know what is.
