Does Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Have Side Quests? Answered

Will You Accept the Quest/s?

Ah — side quests. It seems like they’ve been a thing for as long as gaming has become the giant that it is, but really … they’re relatively new-ish. But, one franchise that has been using the trend for much of its lifespan is Pokémon. In each generation, while they may not have been explicitly called ‘side quests,’ there have been bonus tasks players could take on throughout their adventure. It only makes sense to ask if the same can be said for the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Will Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Have Side Quests?

So, it would seem as of writing, it is unclear what — if any — side quests will be present in Scarlet / Violet. In fact, that sounds like the kind of thing that wouldn’t be revealed until the game launches on November 18. But, if we had to guess … given the fact that Sword / Shield and Legends Arceus both experimented with the side quest mechanic, there will probably be something similar in this next generation of games.

But, one thing we do know about the story campaign for Scarlet / Violet is that it will be non-linear. Instead of putting players on a single path, they’ll have three to choose from! These stories are called Victory Road, Path of Legends, and Starfall Street. It would make perfect sense for each of these paths to include their own unique side-quests. But, like I said — this is probably something we’ll have to wait for the full game to find out!
