Does Link Have Hookshot Ability in Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?

We’re preparing Link for another majestic journey through Hyrule as we get ready for the upcoming game Tears of the Kingdom. The sequel game that everyone has been waiting for will finally become available to play this year. You’ll come across familiar characters, learn more about Hyrule and its inhabitants, and will travel to find shrines to unlock abilities and weapons. In previous Zelda titles you were able to use Links iconic hookshot ability. Will we be looking for a return in Tears of Kingdom? Here’s everything we know about hookshot being available to use in Tears of Kingdom.

Tears of Kingdom Release Date

We’re preparing our Switch console because Tears of Kingdom is high on our list of games we have been wanting to play. Ever since Link woke from his long sleep, and stumbled out of his cave to look across the horizon of Hyrule, we’ve been wanting to come back. We remembered running straight for the castle that Ganon overtook and getting destroyed by the futuristic looking monsters. It was a visually stunning work of art. Tears of Kingdom was said to be released March of 2023, however it got delayed, and was pushed until May 12th. You’ll be able to play Tears of Kingdom on your Nintendo Switch consoles in Spring.

Hookshot in Tears of Kingdom

If you have played Zelda titles before you are probably very familiar with the iconic hookshot weapon that Link uses in shrines. It’s a popular tool and a mode of transportation for him to get to higher points of entry. It’s probably on the same level as the ocarina in terms of how important it is. Link has used the weapon in many titles, so it begs the question, will hookshot be available in Tears of Kingdom? Unfortunately with the release coming soon it is very unlikely that we will see this iconic tool come back. It might be replaced with Link having the ability to already scale mountains with his bare hands. In other titles, open world wasn’t a thing, and he had limited mobility.
