Does Lezduit Have Limited Ammo in High on Life? How the Final Weapon Works

LEZDUIT!!

In the final act of High on Life, you recover a fifth Gatlian who has been experimented on by the G3 cartel. It’s not like he was the only one experimented on, but … this particular instance is … rough. He’s effectively catatonic when you recover him from Dr. Giblets’ laboratory. It makes things worse when Kenny reveals he was partially responsible for the G3’s takeover of Gatlus. So, the Gatlian who has been a loyal friend for the entire game is responsible for the condition of the final Gatlian, named Lezduit.

Lezduit is … repaired by Gene, but he’s left unable to say anything aside from his own name … Lezduit. And, in the final assault against cartel leader Garmantuous, you can use Lezduit to stage a one-person onslaught on the G3’s Earth base. Here’s how Lezduit is different than any other Gatlian in the game.

Does Lezduit Have Limited Ammo in High on Life?

No. Like the rest of his species, Lezduit has unlimited ammo, but it might not seem that way at first. Because Lezduit is the most overpowered Gatlian — aside from Creature, who is broken in the best ways — the developers needed to incorporate some limits to prevent the final chapter from being too easy.

So, they decided to make it so that every time you reload, you have to survive for a few seconds while Lezduit is restarted. It’s a risk and reward situation: sure, you might think it’s too much risk, but given that Garmantuous can be easily handled with Lezduit alone, I’d say the reward is more than sufficient. Alas, it’d be really neat if they let you use Lezduit in the post-game, but … unfortunately, you can’t.

How to Get the ‘Lezduit!’ Achievement in High on Life

If you take a look at the achievements for High on Life, you might notice one just called ‘Lezduit!’ As it turns out, this is an unmissable achievement that automatically unlocks once you’ve obtained Lezduit as a working Gatlian. So, if it doesn’t unlock when you obtain him after the Dr. Giblets “boss fight,” don’t worry, because it’ll pop once Gene manages to bring him back to some semblance of coherency.
