Harvestella comes with many expected mechanics as any life simulator game includes. This consists of its world being home to a plethora of supporting characters you can bond with as well as a character customizer for your very own protagonist. But the extent in which relationships play a part in it had gone unmentioned until more recently. It was certainly an exciting prospect interested gamers wanted to learn more about sooner rather than later.
Those interested in the game in the west are now left feeling far less in the dark about this topic in question. With a wealth of Japanese interviews having come out ahead of its release, the highly appreciated efforts of Reddit user VertVentus having graciously translated questions and answers relevant from these interviews have given us a clearer picture. Here’s everything we now know about it within Harvestella.
Does Harvestella Have Romance?
The short answer is that it does, but Harvestella will not contain romance in the traditional sense. Rather, players will be able to choose who their life partner is instead. This will be possible once certain criteria have been accomplished.
Namely, each character will have its own relationship gauge. Their very own character story will eventually open up depending on this level. Players will have to complete the main story and have increased their intimacy rank with the character that they are most interested into the maximum level to trigger a certain event. This event is termed a “Partnership” in Harvestella.
By clearing this exclusive event, the character you bond with to this extent will take up residence in your very own living quarters. In this way, the romancing aspect of the game is post-game content. It is more than understandable considering the titles’ heavy emphasis and focus on its many storylines.
You can however bond with as many other characters as you want before the curtains close out the game. Furthermore, players can choose their life partner regardless of their gender, with this is the reason why its director Hiroto Furuya went for this relationship to be presented and addressed as such.
