Developer Digital’s own new mobile game Devolver Tumble Time is here, giving players a fantastic little puzzle title to help pass the time. This adorable game isn’t only limited to something that’s simply there to keep you busy in your doctor’s lobby though, as there’s a lot of fun to be had and some nifty in-game items to unlock. One of the coolest things about Devolver Tumble Time is the fact that most things can be earned simply by playing, with little to no real-world money needed to be pumped into it in order to get anything but the bare minimum.

Coins
While you most definitely can purchase more coins with real-world money from the in-game shop, there are other ways to do so which are 100% free. The first is to simply make connections during games. The more icons you can string together, the bigger payout of coins you’ll get for the matches you make. So trying to shake up the board or clear smaller strings for larger ones is going to make a world of difference.
Additionally, you can use “stuff” to actually make coins. Stuff is earned by making connections over 18. So the more stuff you get, the more coins you can turn it into. You can also get coins by doing the daily scratch-off rewards or by simply being gifted them at random through your mailbox.
Characters
Unlocking characters is fairly simple as well, as there are only two ways of doing so. The first way, which is free, is by playing the game and completing the various maps. Each map gives you a new character to add to your roster as well as their own special abilities.
The other way to unlock new characters is by spending either coins or stuff on Gacha gumball prize machines. There are many characters that can only be unlocked this way, so earning coins and following my tips above are going to be your best bet in unlocking those characters.
