Can you Skip Cutscenes and Dialogue in God of War Ragnarök?

That's interesting, let's skip it.

Kratos and Atreus’ adventure through the Norse realms is in for some exciting and memorable new chapter in God of War Ragnarök. And while the God of War franchise has always emphasized a compelling and epic story, character relationships, dialogue and drama were never more important than in the 2018 installment of the saga, God of War. Exploring the new dynamics of fatherhood, what it means to be a god and dealing with loss. It’s apparent that Kratos’ adventure took a less bloody and revenge driven turn. After all, wanting to fulfil the desire of his recently deceased wife, Faye, is what motivated the narrative. Now, if that’s not a great story, I don’t know what is. And by what I’ve been hearing and reading about Ragnarök, this time the scenes and dialogue are well above of what we already saw in the previous game. Having said that, can you skip cutscenes and dialogue in God of War Ragnarök?

Can You Skip Cutscenes and Dialogue in God of War Ragnarök?

Unfortunately, you cannot skip cutscenes and dialogue. Whether you’re a speedrunner, or you’re playing the game for the seventh time, or you don’t like cutscenes and dialogue in games and you want to drive straight to the action, the ability to skip cutscenes and dialogue is very much appreciated for a considerable amount of people. And while most games include this ability, unfortunately, in God of War Ragnarök, you won’t be able to skip cutscenes and dialogue. And I think I understand the reason.

If you’re a chef, you practice your craft for years. Once you have a piece of resistance ready, you will want your diners to experience the plate as it is. That means, nothing must be removed or added to the dish. You understand that the experience of eating the dish is dependent on each of the ingredients. Taking a single one out will mess with the dish completely. Consequently, if cutscenes and dialogue are such an important part of God of War Ragnarök, then of course you would want to make sure that all the players experience the game as it is. Ultimately, these are good news, after all, that’s the level of confidence that the developers have in their own product. So take this opportunity to enjoy the story of God of War Ragnarök, I believe you won’t be disappointed.
