Can you Play Wizard’s Chess in Hogwarts Legacy? Answered

We want to play Wizards Chess just like Ron.

If you’re a fan of the Harry Potter franchise, you most definitely remember when Ron pulled an act of heroism in the movie Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. He sacrificed himself during an intense game of Wizard’s Chess to help Harry advance through the dungeon. In Hogwarts Legacy you can see NPC’s playing a game of Wizard’s Chess, especially if you chose the Slytherin house first. This is where you’re introduced to Imelda Reyes, Slytherin Quidditch Captain. This makes you wonder if you can play Wizard’s Chess as a mini game in Hogwarts Legacy. We know you can’t play Quidditch, but, is this game a possibility? We’re going to solve this mystery together without the use of magic.

Wizard’s Chess Hogwarts Legacy

Wizard’s Chess is an intense version of muggles (humans) chess. You play the game similarly to how muggles play it, however there is one huge difference between the two games. In wizard’s chess the pieces move themselves after you have announced the move you want them to do. If the pieces need to destroy the opposing players piece they will do so dramatically.

Can you play Wizard’s Chess as a mini game? Unfortunately, you can’t play the game as a mini-game, however, there is one way you can play it and that is through a quest. The quest will unlock treasure and it is located on Poidsear Coast. If you want to learn how to beat the Wizard’s Chess Puzzle keep reading!

Poidsear Coast Treasure Vault

This is one of the only ways you can play Wizard’d Chess and it involves a puzzle and some treasure. This is a challenge where you can win treasure if you can beat the game. In order to get to this treasure vault you need to go far north until you see a treasure vault on the map. Getting into the vault requires you to use “Depulso” to rotate pillars. Once you’re in you need to use transformation on the white pot to make it into a bishop. After you have a bishop you need to cast “Wingardium Leviosa”. This will move the bishop in front of the knight. That’s how you complete the Poidsear Coast treasure vault and how you can play Wizard’s Chess in Hogwarts Legacy.

Just to be clear there are smaller chess puzzles scattered around Hogwarts Legacy that will require you to do the same movements as above. All you need to do is find an object you can use the transfiguration spell on. This will turn it into a chess piece and you repeat to try to get a checkmate. It’s not playing an entire game of chess, however, it’s pretty close!
