Everyone thinks starting a cult is the easiest thing, just get some tracksuits and convince everyone to live in the woods. But between said life in the woods and Crusading through the wilderness in the name of your dark lord, it can get to be a bit much. So, can you lower the difficulty in Cult of the Lamb?
Can You Lower the Difficulty in Cult of the Lamb?
When you first start Cult of the Lamb, you’re given a choice between one of four difficulty settings:
- Easy
- Medium
- Hard
- Extra Hard
For your first playthrough of the game, the developers recommend picking Medium difficulty, as it’ll provide the best serving of engrossing, balanced gameplay without absolutely beating you over the head with your own failures. Enemies and bosses will provide a reasonable challenge while still offering you opportunities to learn and grow.
If, however, you find Medium to be a bit too challenging, worry not; at any time in the game, you can enter the Settings menu and turn the difficulty down to Easy. This will make combat encounters generally more forgiving, with enemies not putting as much pressure on you. Turning the difficulty down won’t affect achievements or anything like that, so don’t feel bad if you need to turn it down to get through a tricky encounter. If you find Easy to be too, er, easy, you can always turn it back up to Medium afterward.
By that same token, if you think Medium difficulty is too easy, you can also turn it up to Hard or Extra Hard at any time, again from the Settings menu. Again, this isn’t recommended for your first playthrough of Cult of the Lamb, but hey, don’t let me tell you how to run your demonic cult. A little self-flagellation is often expected in these kinds of circumstances anyway.
