Can You Dive Throw in Madden 24?

For those highly anticipating the release of Madden 24 or are already playing the early access upon pre-ordering the game, you will have found like myself that the dive throw can no longer be seen. Whilst it is stated by EA in the months leading up to the game’s release with the Beta being tested by its loyal fanbase that the Mahomes dive throw is one that would only appear in dire situations for the Chiefs or in your Ultimate Team, those who experienced this for themselves were incredibly frustrated by the animation. With its highly accurate throwing capabilities that already existed with Mahome’s kit, the dive throw was one that players wanted removed immediately. But did fans get their wish? This is Vincent’s guide on whether the dive throw can be used effectively in Madden 24.

Is the Dive Throw in Madden 24?

After spending a total of 40 minutes practising this throw for myself, playing only as Mahomes, his signature throw was nowhere to be seen. I had followed the specific set of steps to execute this throw: run off to the left or right of the field until you are past the yard numbers and let go off the sprint button to immediately throw the ball to one of your wide receivers. In the Beta version, the Mahomes superman throw would always happen so long as you sprinted past the numbers to either side of you, stopped sprinting and threw the ball in time so that you successfully passed it to your wide receivers. This throw even worked with receivers within the 10 yard box, on the opposite side of the field, thus making a highly accurate diagonally throw across the entire team and your opposition.

Why EA May Have Removed the Superman Dive in Madden 24

But with careful experimentation and a lot of trial and error, I have concluded that this throw cannot be used in the base game of Madden 24. Whilst it may not be completely removed from the game, the superman dive throw cannot be done under any normal circumstances. It may be one of those that can only be executed under massive amounts of pressure of incoming defenders but under normal circumstances the dive throw animation does not initiate.

Due to its poor feedback received upon players finding this dive throw in the Beta, it is highly likely that either the dive throw was adjusted to only appear in extremely rare occasions or has completely been removed from the face of Madden 24. Either way, I imagine the playerbase are happy with this decision. For those wondering, the Scrambler Factor is not part of Mahome’s or another other pro players kit. Instead he rocks these as his X Factors – Bazooka (15+ increased max throwing distance), Hot Route Master (4 additional hot routes), Flashing Deadeye (perfect pass accuracy on the run up to 40 yards), Red Zone Deadeye (perfect pass accuracy while throwing in the red zone), No-Look Deadeye (perfect accuracy on cross-body throws up to 20 yards), and Pass Lead Elite (increased throw power on bullet passes).
