Can You Customize Your Character in Plague Tale Requiem? Answered

Not much room for fashion in the middle of a plague.

I’m not exactly a scholar of haute couture, but I do know this: A Plague Tale: Requiem is set in France, circa 1348, and back in those times, if you weren’t a noble, you probably just wore the same thing every day. With that in mind, can you customize your character in A Plague Tale: Requiem?

Can You Customize Your Character in Plague Tale Requiem? Answered

As that lead-in probably tipped you off, the answer to that question is no. The siblings Amicia and Hugo are the static protagonists of A Plague Tale: Requiem, with fixed features and outfits. You can’t customize either their faces or clothes. You’re in 14th-century France in the middle of a plague, you really think now’s the time for a makeover montage?

The only thing close to customization you can do in this game is upgrade Amicia’s armor. Finding certain secret upgrades for your armor, such as the Bracer, will subtly change Amicia’s appearance as she equips them. If you’re hoping for something like customizing the color or shape of her armor, though, you’re unfortunately out of luck.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is more of a character-focused story, so there’s not really any room for things like excessive customization. Have you ever put a silly mask on a character in a game before a serious cutscene starts? Kinda sucks the tension out of the room.
