miHoYo are back with their latest in the Honkai franchise, sending their players towards the stars with Star Rail. In this turn-based RPG, take control of a team of 4 characters, all with unique abilities and animations to match. Giving off major Final Fantasy XIII vibes, Star Rail offers players who are a fan of miHoYo to indulge into a different fantasy, one that is filled with battles and a narrative to carry its adventure. For those just getting started, you will note of the usual choice to determine your character’s name as used in all RPGs. However, as Genshin Impact allows you to alter your character’s name at any given point, can the same be said for Star Rail? This guide has the answers on whether you can change your name in Honkai: Star Rail.

Is Changing your Name Possible in Honkai: Star Rail?

The journey begins in Honkai: Star Rail as you make your way as Kafka and Silver Wolf, learning of the basics on how battles and general gameplay mechanics work in the game. Eventually, they tap into the systems mainframe, stelling the Stellaron and awaking the Receptable (that’s you by the way). In this moment, you get the opportunity to decide whether you will choose Male or Female, as in all RPGs. The default names available are Stelle and Caelus. Once the sex has been identified, you will not be able to change this after the choice has been made. Whilst the default names remain the same, players will get to choose what they would like their Code Name to be, similar to that of Silver Wolf.

Once you enter your Code Name here, you will continue the story with Kafka, awakening anew within the story of Star Rail. But if you decide that you have grown bored of you character’s name or changed your mind from the first pick, you have more than enough opportunity to change the name once again to your liking. To do so, select the Phone Icon at the upper-left corner of your screen. Go onto your Trailblazer Profile via the three dots next to your name. Select the Pencil Icon to edit your Code Name. Keep in mind however that with every change you will need to wait 3-days in order to make another change. So you will not be able to alter your name multiple times within a single day.
