Can Virginia Die in Sons of the Forest?

Virginia is a valuable companion who you don't want to lose.

Sons of the Forest can be both a solo or a team adventure, depending on your personal preference. You can definitely look for the missing billionaire alone and complete the game knowing that it was 100% your success. On the other hand, you can get help either from your friends or from in-game companions.

One of those companions is Virginia who is a pretty versatile and strong companion that can be of great help if you know how to command her correctly. However, there are some dangers for her in the game. Dive in to find out if Virginia can die in Sons of the Forest.

Can Virginia Be Killed in Sons of the Forest

Yes, Virginia can die in Sons of the Forest. The whole game is created around an unforgiving and realistic atmosphere that tends to imitate life. That’s why companions like Virginia as well as your friends can die from the same dangers you can.

It’s vital that you guard Virginia and issue commands to her carefully so she doesn’t end up in huge danger. You don’t want to go Rambo style either when getting attacked by the mutants as you can kill her as well with both firearms and melee weapons. So be careful, or even better – order her to stand in a place where she wouldn’t be in your line of fire.

Can You Revive Virginia in Sons of the Forest?

Yes and no. The game officially doesn’t allow you to revive Virginia or other companions and once they are gone that’s it. But, there is sort of a workaround, or a hack if you like, that can bring Virginia to life.

If your Virginia has died and you want to play Jesus and revive her you can do it by going to the folder where your Sons of the Forest saves are (usually it’s C:/User/AppData/LocalLow/Endnight/SonsOfTheForest/Saves). Find the GameStateSaveData.json file and open it with Notepad, this will allow you to edit portions of it.

Use Ctrl + F to search by keyword and type “IsVirginiaDead”. Once you find that line in the file, you will see that next to it it says “true” in bold letters. Without editing, removing, or moving anything else, replace the “true” with”false” and save your changes. When you open the game now Virginia will be alive.

In case this didn’t help, move on to the file called SaveData.json and again use Ctrl + F to look up the term “TypeId\”:10”. That is the codename for Virginia. Without editing anything else, find “State” and change it from 6 to 2 and change the “Health” value from 0.0 to 100.

Remember: Not changing any other text or switching the order of them in these files is vital. If you do, you can disrupt game files and your game might not work properly. Additionally, this same fix can be applied to other dead companions as well.

Can Enemies Kill Virginia in Sons of the Forest?

Yes, enemies can definitely kill Virginia. As we already mentioned she can die the same way you or your friends can in-game.

But, unlike Kelvin, Virginia can carry a weapon (two in fact) and shoot at enemies, so unless she is overwhelmed, she will be able to hold her ground and defend against the ugly cannibals.
