Black Desert Online (BDO) Season Server Guide

For newcomers and comebacks.

As fun as MMO games can be, they are a sizable commitment. Not everyone has the time or drive to start from nothing and catch up with months upon months of levels and content. Luckily, Black Desert Online has a solution for getting new and returning players back in the saddle quickly and concisely. Here’s a guide to Black Desert Online‘s Season Servers.

Black Desert Online (BDO) Season Server Guide

Black Desert Online’s Season Servers are special servers, separate from the game’s regular servers, intended primarily for players new to the game or those who have been away for a while. When playing on a Season Server, you’ll get all kinds of boosts to hasten character progression, as well as special gear on par with what the main servers are currently packing.

In order to make use of a Season Server, you’ll need to make a dedicated Season Character, exclusively for use on the Season Server. While you’re playing as a Season Character, you’ll have access to the following benefits:

  • Bonus Combat, Skill, and Life EXP (moreso on weekends)
  • Bonus basic resources when gathering

When a Season Server’s season ends, your Season Character will automatically graduate into being a regular character, which you can take into the game’s main servers. Keep in mind that you can only make one Season Character per season.

In addition to the aforementioned benefits of playing with a Season Character, Season Servers also offer access to the Season Pass. Everyone playing on the Season Server gets access to the Season Pass’s free track, which features a variety of challenges you can complete for additional rewards. You can also purchase the Black Spirit’s Pass from the in-game store to access the Season Pass’s premium track, which has even better stuff.

Season Pass rewards, broadly speaking, include:

  • High-level gear and accessories
  • Items to enhance another Season Character after the season ends
  • Rare items you can’t get elsewhere

The most important thing to note about Season Servers is that, as the name may imply, they run on seasons. A season only lasts a few months, and once it’s over, you can’t make any new Season Characters until a new season starts. That said, even if you join near the end of a season, don’t hesitate to get a new Season Character started. Even if you don’t get them up to a good level, you will still get items like Fughar’s Timepiece you can use to enhance the next Season Character you make when the new season starts.

Whether you’ve been away from Black Desert Online for a while or are brand new, Season Servers are there to ensure you can get to top form in an expedient manner. Beats being perpetually behind the level curve, that’s for sure.
