Black Spirit’s Crystal are a source of frustration in Black Desert Online. It’s used in several recipes that players may want to get utilize, like Rebellious Spirit Crystal, which gives great stat boosts. The frustration comes from not only their scarcity but how easy they are to shatter on death. But, if you want or need it, you can find it out there.
How to Get Black Spirit’s Crystal in Black Desert Online
Black Spirit’s Crystal takes quite a bit of work to obtain. There are pre-requisite missions that flow into other missions that eventually lead you to your goal. It starts with finding the leader of Tarif: Ahon Kirus. Once you find her, you’ll be given the option of starting the quest “The Taboo Book of Tarif”. This will begin your journey.
Quests: The Taboo Book of Tarif -> The Founder of Tarif -> The Missing Woman.
Upon completing those three, return to Ahon Kirus and she will give you information that begins the next quest. It’s advised to complete “Secrets of Nadar Flame” at this point. Find Samin Arin in Tarif to start the next series of quests.
Tarif Quests
Scattered Shroud Knights -> Shroud, The Once-Glorious Name. You’ll get requests from soldiers around the farm such as hunting or fetch quests. Accept these and complete them. It gives you information for the final piece of this quest tree -> Sargent from the Past -> Testimony of the Villagers -> Interrogate Monta Ato.
With the completion of Interrogate Monta Ato, you’ll be given the knowledge that will be useful later. Return to Ahon Kirus and you’ll get the choice of Wisdom of the Secret Guards or “I don’t need advice”. This is due to an encounter with the Black Spirit, who warns you about the advice given. Either choice leads you to what you need to do to proceed, but offers different rewards. Head to the Ancient Rift and find Ain Grade.

Ancient Rift Quests
Wisdom of the Secret Guards/I don’t need advice -> Lightless Bautt Slate -> Ruin Guidance -> Legendary Blacksmith -> The Stolen Book -> The Giant’s Stone of Light -> Ancient Rift Protection -> Bouts Barrier/Will you be a hero -> The Giant’s Descendant -> Ruins of the Ancient Giant -> The Dark Chaser
Dark Chaser opens up the Canyon of Corruption, the final area for quests. It’ll take you to several other locations but it’s the final quest tree needed.

Dismal Aura -> Tracking Another -> Acts of a Mediah Fanatic -> Report on Elric Monastery -> Stop Illezra’s Plot (Co-Op) ->Kamasylve’s Purified Ritual -> Descendants of the Ancients -> The Substance of Black Energy
Once completed, return to Tarif and talk to Ahon Kirus as she gives you the Shaped Black Energy quest and, once completed, you’ll be able to take the rewards you’ve gotten from the quests you’ve completed to combine them for the “Awakened Black Spirit Summon Scroll”. Defeating the Black Spirit rewards you with a Black Spirit Crystal.
