Best Support Pokémon to Use in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raids

The Tera Raid Cheerleaders

With many players completing the base game of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the shift towards Shiny Hunting and Tera Raids has overtaken the post-game experience. Players have been preparing for the 7-Star Unrivaled Charizard Event. With the Raid meta being that of Iron Hands for high damage output and the ability to regain health, players are finding new support mon meta with Pokémon such as Perrserker. For players looking for supporting Pokémon to use in co-op Tera Raid Battles (outside of the all Perrserker team-up), these are our best Support Pokémon picks to use in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raids.

Gastrodon

Shellos can be found relatively early in the game as players are not required to obtain the swim ability for Miraidon/Koraidon. This Pokémon can be picked up in South Province (Area Five) on the tiny beach located on the south-east side of Paldea. There is a Pokémon Centre here which you can fast travel to if you have visited this beach already. Shellos can be seen as an average Level 21 in this area. With Shellos, all you have to do is level up this Pokémon to Level 30 to evolve into Gastrodon.

Alternatively, players can find a Level 50 Gastrodon in North Province (Area Three), past Glaseado Mountain and on the northern border of Paldea. Gastrodon can be found on the sandy beaches. You can fast travel to the North Province (Area Three) Pokémon Centre and head past the snowy biome into the grassy biomes. Keeping the river on your left, head to the very tip of Paldea where you will find a small beach. Gastrodon is located here. For players looking to get this Pokémon to Level 100 as a support Tera Raid Pokémon, this will be a better option for those who have not caught a Shellos early in the game.

Grimmsnarl

It is a simpler process to obtain a Grimmsnarl, compared to getting a Galarian Meowth. Players must evolve the Pokémon Impidimp twice. Impidimp is located in Tagtree Thicket, just north of East Province (Area Three). Upon catching, all you have to do is evolve Impidimp twice. First evolution is at Level 32, which evolves this Pokémon into Morgrem. With Morgrem you just need to continue levelling up until Level 42, which will evolve the Pokémon into its final form, Grimmsnarl. To fast-track this process, you can use EXP Candies as a means of levelling up quicker.

Perrserker

To get Perrserker you must first obtain a Galarian Meowth. This is a longer process than other to obtain a specific Pokémon. These are the steps to obtaining a Galarian Meowth:

  • Defeat 7/8 Gym Leaders.
  • Go to the Academy and complete the Language lessons 1-3.
  • Take the Midterm exam. Test answers are 1. A (Thank you), 2. B (Délicieux), 3. D (Time to eat), 4. A (Compliment them) & 5. C (Salvatore).
  • Complete Language lessons 4-6.
  • Take Final exam. Test answers are 1. B (Délicieux), 2. B (I love you), 3. B (Anger), 4. A (Happiness) & 5. D (Salvatore).
  • Use the computer at the front desk and locate Salvatore to speak to 4 times. Go to the locations in order: Staff Room, Schoolyard, Biology Lab and Staff Room.
  • The 4th time you speak to Salvatore, he will give you a Galarian Meowth.

Those are the steps to obtaining a Galarian Meowth. To get Perrserker, all you have to do is level up the Galarian Meowth to Level 28 for this Pokémon to evolve. Players have the opportunity to breed with Galarian Meowth by using the Everstone. You can buy an Everstone for 3,000 Pokémon Dollars in Delibird Presents store in Mesagoza. Refer to the screenshot below of the Presents shop which houses the Everstone.

Umbreon

Although stated as rarely seen, Eevee can be caught very early in the game. Players can find Eevee in the Paldea areas:

  • Pokémon League route behind Mesagoza
  • West Province (Area Three)
  • South Province (Area Two)

We recommend players search the Pokémon League route and just outside of Cortondo (South Province Area Two), in the surrounding Olive Fields. Eevee is a low-level Pokémon and is the easiest to catch out of the Support Tera Raid Pokémon. With Eevee in your active party, you need to evolve this Pokémon into Umbreon. This has a very specific requirement for players to accomplish in order to obtain an Umbreon.

To evolve Eevee into Umbreon, you must get their happiness level to 160. The best method to do this is a combination of Soothe Bells, Picnics and Battling. The most crucial part of evolution is that once Eevee hits the happiness level of 160, you must level up Eevee once in the night-time to evolve this Pokémon into Umbreon. If you were to evolve during the day, you will obtain a Espeon instead.
