Best Summoner Build for Leveling in Remnant 2

Send in your minions to do the dirty work

Acting as the replacement for V from Devil May Cry 5 is the Summoner Archetype. Able to send in their own minions to do the dirty work, the Summoner can deal damage from afar and take very little back themselves as the only loss of HP stems from the actually summoning of their little minions. Whether or not you want to use the biggest and best there is of the Reaver which will cost you 35% of your health pool or use something smaller is down to you but how will you replenish the lost health? You cannot risk overextending in a fight if you have spent all of your health on summons and having only a total of 3 Dragon Heart Relic Charges to deal with could leave you in a nasty predicament. Therefore, this is Vincent’s recommendation on the best Summoner Build to use in Remnant 2.

Best Summoner Build in Remnant 2

The Summoner is not part of the base Archetype choices you make at the beginning of the game when choosing your Class. Because of this, players will need to unlock this unique Archetype by a different set of steps compared to others. Firstly, you need to find and collect a total of 15 Blood Moon Essence which can be found inside the Blood Moon Event that happens in Yaesha. Upon collecting the Essence, head to the Bloodmoon Alter to trade the Essence for Faded Grimoire. The Grimoire acts as the unique item needed for the Summoner Engram. To create the Engram however, return to Ward 13 and visit Wallace who will turn the Grimoire into the Archetype Engram you need for your Secondary Archetype.

But before you try to get the Summoner Archetype as your Secondary, you will need to figure out what you want as your first. In the discussion for the best match with the Summoner Archetype one particular base Archetype kept popping up and that is the trusty Handler Archetype. Therefore, in creating the best Build, start with the Handler and unlock the Summoner to complete the base Build and set up your perfect starter to Remnant 2.

Summoner and Handler Build Summary

The Summoner and Handler Build can be used for both solo and co-op players. For those playing co-op, we recommend only having one of these Builds on the team as the Summoner/Handler perfectly balances support and offense. When choosing which Prime Perk to use, we recommend the Hander’s Bonded so that if you or allies get downed, your four-legged companion can go out to revive whilst you focus on dealing damage with your minion. If you are finding that your health is depleting too fast to send out minions, you can switch your dog to Attack Mode or alternatively, switch this around and have the dog on Support whilst your Minions dish out damage from the air or ground depending on what you sacrifice.

The Summoner/Handler Build is based around long-range weapons that deal damage from afar with standard Rifles that can cover you and your allies whilst you send in Minions to increase your skill, mod and weapon damage. The dog’s howl can also heal the Summoner’s Minions, thus keeping everyone within close proximity healthy so that you do not need to keep spending your HP to summon. Even if you spend HP however, you can easily heal back up with the Support Dog.

When choosing which weapon is best to use, we recommend anything long-range so that your Minions can do the majority of the work whilst the dog stays in the back to support and you cover fire for all of your allies in the battle arena. Finally, we recommend summoning the Reaver as your Summoner Skill to use as you can replenish health back with Support selected by changing the bandana color on the Handler’s dog.

Alternatively, players can switch out the Handler for Medic instead so that when you heal after summoning, you will gain back Relic Charges as the Prime Perk of the Medic Archetype which is also incredibly useful in the early portion of Remnant 2.
