Best Rituals to Perform in Cult of the Lamb

Enter the Tabernacle

In Cult of the Lamb, some of the best things you can do when you’re not crusading for blood are Rituals. If you’re more invested in the roguelike combat elements and don’t feel like investing a lot of time into the community building aspects, there are Rituals to help with that. What if you need to … get rid of … a follower but don’t want to wait for them to die naturally? There are Rituals to help with that.

Here are the best Rituals to perform! Admittedly, this is largely my own experience, so there’s a chance you’ll disagree. In any case, I highly recommend that you jump into the game for yourself and find your favorite Rituals! There are plenty to pick from, so get going!

What are the Best Rituals to Perform?

Feasting Ritual

“Throw a feast for your Followers to completely fill up Cult hunger and gain +30 faith.”

If I had to guess the number of times I have taken advantage of this Ritual to avoid unnecessary deaths, it’d be a very high number. It has definitely come in handy, especially in the early-game when resources are scarce. I remember how crazy it felt to pay some bones and feed my entire flock. Incredibly helpful!

Brainwashing Ritual

“Followers will become brainwashed. Faith will be locked at full for 2 days.”

This one is kinda tricky. It locks Faith for two days, which can definitely come in clutch when all you wanna do is crusade grind. But, on the other hand — it’ll make some, or all, of your followers sick. It can help to get the Substances Encouraged trait, which will add 20 Faith when the Brainwashing Ritual is held. People will still get sick, but as long as you tend to them before the sickness kills them, that won’t be a problem.

Sacrifice of the Flesh

“Sacrifice a Follower to grow your strength and unlock new abilities and weapons. Higher level Followers will be more valuable when sacrificed.”

I admit, this one is kinda gruesome. You’ll also lose some Faith every time you perform this Ritual. But, as long as you pick and choose who to sacrifice, you can make it worth the hit. As I write this, I have almost finished unlocking all weapons and curses despite the fact that I have only beaten two Bishops. I strongly believe that sacrificing higher leveled followers in Cult of the Lamb is the key to maxing out upgrades.

Ascend Follower Ritual

“Perform a Ritual at your temple in which you can ascend a Followers spirit to a higher plane of existence. All Followers gain Loyalty.”

This is like the younger cousin to Sacrifice of the Flesh. It effectively does the same thing, but it actually increases Faith, and it removes the body from play. This eliminates the need for a body pit or Funeral. It may not help with upgrades like its older cousin does, but there’s still a lot of value in Ascension.

Bonfire Ritual

“Light the fires and let us dance deep into the night!”

I believe this was my first Ritual. As such, there’s a soft spot for this one. It’s rather simple, but effective. If you’re running low on Faith and need a jumpstart, there’s nothing wrong with dancing over a bonfire.
