When picking a starter Pokemon you need to determine which would be great to use long term. Water Pokemon typically aren’t our first choice since we prefer going the fire route, but looking back, we should have picked Quaquaval. He uses a great set of moves during the duration of the game. With moves such as Aqua Step and Close Combat he can take down a strong opponent. We also should take into consideration skills that will boost his stats such as Work up. You can perform tons of damage that can be used in Tera battles. Also, take into consideration Close Combat. If you pair Quaquaval with Close Combat you’ll be able to take down Pokemon with types such as Rock, Steel, Ice, and Dark. So, which moves should you pick when creating a crazy good sweeper Pokemon?

  • Aqua Step
  • Close Combat
  • Aqua Jet
  • Swords Dance

Make sure your Pokemon has the Moxie ability. This will help gain attack boosts and will make Quaquaval a beast in battle as the first Pokemon to go out and fight. You should also pair Quaquaval up with Pokemon such as Amoongus and Iron Moth. Since Quaquaval is a water type Pokemom it does have its disadvantages. That’s alright! That’s what a great team is supposed to be for. Choose Pokemon on your team that can help get Quaquaval out of that bind. Pokemon such as Slowbrow, Toxapex, and Gyarados can help during your battle. The reason for using these Pokemon is because Toxapex can spread a toxic status, Slowbro can use thunder wave, and Gyarados can intimidate Pokemon.

Now that you know Quaquaval is a superior starter Pokemon are you going to use him as your main in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet? For more Pokémon Scarlet and Violet content, be sure to check out our posts! We’re covering everything about Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
