To increase the starting odds of 1/4096, players can use the Shiny Charm and game exploitive methods such as Town and Picnic Resets to increase Shiny odds. Not only this, but isolating the Pokémon Typing by popping a Shiny Sandwich will increase your chances tremendously. Some spawns are located between Provinces and Towns/Cities, making them viable options to use the Town Method. Others can be found in family spawns, where the Picnic Method would suit resetting the spawns. No matter the location, players are bound to find Shiny Pokémon soon in their search. This is our guide on the best locations to find Fighting Pokémon when Shiny Hunting in Scarlet and Violet.

Best Places to Find Shiny Fighting Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet

Fighting-Type PokémonShiny Location in Paldea
GalladeBest spot to find this Pokémon is right outside of Zapapico (West). Gallade will spawn right outside of the Town meaning that you can easily perform a Town Reset. To do this just walk back and forth from Zapapico to Dalizapa Passage. The Gallade will appear blue instead of green as their Shiny Form. These do not spawn incredibly close to Zapapico so you may need to walk a bit down the Passage and return to the Town to reset the spawns.
Flamigo/ Croagunk/ ToxicroakThese three Pokémon can all be found underneath Casseroya Lake. Between the Lake and the River of West Province (Area Two). As these will all appear here, you should walk from the west side/ very edge of the Paldean western border to the east (circling around the Lake). Walk all the way to the intersection of the River in West Province (Area Two) and then circle back to the edge. This route will show you Flamigo, Croagunk and Toxicroak. All of these Pokémon appear as family spawns (+2 Pokémon in one patch). You can either run back and forth to reset the spawns or use the Picnic Reset Method to target one of the three Pokémon in this section. Flamigo and Croagunk can also be found just north of South Province (Area Five), inside the swampy biome. Croagunk appears light green and Flamigo is a pale pink for their Shiny variations.
CrabrawlerSouthern small beach of Levincia, located on the eastern boarder of Paldea. The Shiny form has red claws. Picnic Reset may be the best method here to reset the spawns. Remember though you need to kill a minimum of 60 Pokémon to effectively reset the spawns and increase those Shiny Odds. Alternatively, walk away from the groups on the Beach until they successfully despawn. Return to find a different spawn.
TaurosTauros is located right outside of Levincia (North) and appears a lot. Climb the path upwards from the eastern City and look at the grassy area around you. Families of Tauros will spawn here. This is a hard Shiny to spot, you need to look out for a lighter color mane (grey) to the body as opposed to the normal variation having a darker color mane to the body. Climb the upper platforms of the hill and approach the edge, you should be able to Town Reset here from Levincia to East Province (Area Two).
Mankey/ PawmoFound directly underneath Asado Desert. Move from the south-west edge of the Desert and head to the east as if you are walking straight to Cascarrafa. Use West Province (Area One) – North as the fast-travel and starting point for your walk to Cascarrafa. Stay on the grassy biome as both Pokémon will appear here. Just follow the path from the West Province Pokémon Centre to the east and go back and forth from these two locations. Mankey appears a green color in the Shiny form and Pawmo is pink. You could either use the Picnic Reset Method on Mankey as they all spawn close together, or simply walk back and forth to create a distance between each spawn which will reset them. You could use the Town Method at Cascarrafa and West Province (Area One) also.
Breloom/ PrimeapeFound north of the Pokémon Centre (East) inside Medali. You can just stand on the edge of Medali looking north and you will see both Pokémon here. You can easily utilize the Town Method here to reset the spawns of the Pokémon close to the Town. This will reset the spawns in West Province (Area Three). Be sure to stand at the north-east corner of Medali, facing towards the Glaseado Mountain.
HawluchaHawlucha is located just north of North Province (Area One) Pokémon Centre. East of Glaseado Mountain, on the grassy biomes. Head to North Province (Area One) Watchtower, create a path going to and from these two fast-travel points. Hawlucha will appear here in abundance. This Pokémon appears as a purple and red color as opposed to its red and white feathers. Hawlucha spawns super close to the North Province (Area One) Centre. You can easily reset the spawns just in this area by moving up and down the hill and returning to the Centre.
Makuhita/ HariyamaSouth of East Province (Area Three) Pokémon Centre. Many appear in close proximity to the Centre, so you can either use a Picnic to reset the spawns or walk a short distance away from the area to reset them. The choice is yours. Look out for the red coloring on the Shiny form of Makuhita. Purple hands will appear on Hariyama Shiny form. Alternatively, head to Zapapico and use the Town Method of this Town and East Province (Area Three). The family spawns of these two Pokémon will appear close by for you to easily reset the spawns over and over.
Heracross/ FalinksUse North Province (Area Two) Pokémon Centre as the staring point in this hunt. Head south from the Centre into the main body of the Province. Both Pokémon will appear here. You can easily use the Picnic Reset Method here and knock out either Pokémon to reset their spawns and increase the chances of a Shiny Heracross or Falinks appearing. Heracross is highly noticeable in Shiny form with their pink color. Whilst Falinks appear brown instead of yellow in the body of the Pokémon.
Meditite/ Medicham Located east of Alfornado. Follow the passage all the way up the hill where both Pokémon will spawn in. Create a path from the peak of the hill to the entrance of Alfornado. Meditite is red and Medicham appears blue in their Shiny forms. Neither resetting method will be particularly useful here. Instead, you should just run back and forth resetting the spawns at a distance and looking at the family spawns of these Pokémon as they stick together.
RioluFrom Cortondo (West) go south, across the river. Go into the Caves and exit out of the other side. This will take you out to south of the river, in South Province (Area Four). Follow the path to the east, staying in the grassy biome. Riolu does not appear in family spawns, therefore the best thing you can do is walk back and forth alongside the river. Be careful as you walk through as these Pokémon are tiny. However with the Shiny Sandwich popped, if a Shiny appears Riolu is easy to spot with its yellow form.
LucarioLocated on the north side of North Province (Area Two). Inside the cavern like area with pointed rock formations throughout. Family groups of Lucario will spawn here, however there is not loads therefore the best you can do is walk back and forth in this area to reset the spawn at a distance. As these spawn as singular Pokémon with Riolu, a Day Skip may be most appropriate to create a Mass Outbreak of Lucario. Save the game, manually skip forward by one day, return to the game and note which Mass Outbreak is available in the game. Lucario appears yellow just like Riolu Shiny form.
Slither Wing (Scarlet)Slither Wing is located inside Area Zero Research Station 1. This Pokémon has yellow wings instead of red as its Shiny form. These will spawn right outside the Station entrance, head down the hill and return to reset the spawns. As you cannot use a Picnic method here, you will need to just create a distance between the spawns to reset them.
Great Tusk (Scarlet)Great Tusk is found at Area Zero Research Station 4. Head to the right and follow the path where a lot of this Paradox Pokémon will spawn in. Circle all the way around and drop down to where you started, creating path of spawn resets to locate the Shiny Great Tusk. This Pokémon has a brown top as a Shiny to its standard purple coloring. Alternatively, from the top of Area Zero, head to the glimmering crystal island and from here, look over at the rock formation ahead of you. A lot of Great Tusk will appear here, walk back a bit to reset the spawns acting as a form of Town Method.
Iron Hands (Violet)Head to Area Zero Research Station 4, create a path starting from the Station and heading upwards. Drop down to the Station when you have reached the end of Iron Hands spawn points. This is a difficult Shiny to spot. You need to look out for its silver headgear instead of its usual purple. Go onto the glimmering crystal island from the top of Area Zero and check the rock formation in front of you. Many Iron Hands will spawn on top. Head back and forth on the crystal platform to reset the spawns. Use ZL to zoom in on the Pokémon.
Iron Valiant (Violet)Area Zero Research Station 3, head down the cave path for many spawns of this Pokémon. De-spawn the Pokémon by walking away and returning. This Pokémon appears fully silver in its Shiny form as opposed to its pink arms.

Best Shiny Sandwiches to Use

Hunting for Shiny Pokémon is an incredibly hard task to complete, especially when looking for a very specific Pokémon. But this is the purpose of the newest addition in Shiny Hunting which is the Picnic Sandwiches. Game Freak has added this in, giving players the opportunity to experiment in making the best sandwich. Used specifically to isolate a Pokémon Type over all of the others. Each sandwich is made with ingredients specific to the Type you are trying to isolate in the world. However all sandwiches require Herba Mystica to complete the effect. These are the best sandwiches to target Fighting Pokémon in the wilderness of Paldea.

  • Simple Fighting Shiny Sandwich – x1 Pickle, x1 Salty Herba Mystica & x1 Spicy Herba Mystica.
  • Intermediate Fighting Shiny Sandwich – x1 Herbed Sausage, x1 Salty Herba Mystica & x1 Sweet/Spicy/Sour Herba Mystica
  • Expert Fighting Shiny Sandwich – x2 Herbed Sausage, x1 Prosciutto, x1 Red Bell Pepper, x1 Green Bell Pepper, x1 Yellow Bell Pepper, x1 Bitter Herba Mystica & x1 Spicy Herba Mystica.

By isolating the Type it will make it far easier to go to the locations listed above when hinting for a certain Pokémon within the Fighting group. As the other Types will not appear in the wild for those 30 minutes after eating the Fighting Shiny Sandwich.
