Best Places to Find Shiny Fairy Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet

Fairy-Type PokémonShiny Location in Paldea
Marill/ AzumarillAbove the river of West Province (Area Two) and between the Province and Casseroya Lake. Stay on land to avoid the laggy waters, these Pokémon will appear in close proximity of the southern-side of the Lake. Head to the shallow part of the water of Casseroya Lake, and walk along the edge. You will see families of Azurill and Marill here. You can either Picnic reset in this spot or simply walk up and down the shore side to reset the spawns. Families of these Pokémon will also spawn in the southern side of the Lake so you can swim through this side.
ImpidimpThis Pokémon can be found solely in Tagtree Thicket. We highly recommend using the Picnic Method to reset the spawns and increase your chances of finding a Shiny Impidimp. Stay within the main body of the Forest. You can cross cross the bridge on the north-east side of Tagtree Thicket to find more Impidimp and its evolved form. Impidimp can be seen as you follow the Tagtree main path. You do not need to go off the path to look for this Pokémon.
Mimikyu/ MorgremMimikyu and Morgrem can both be found on the north-east side of Tagtree Thicket. You need to cross over the bridge above the river to enter this area. We recommend using a Picnic method when searching for both Mimikyu and Morgrem. As there are many Fairy Pokémon in the area, this will be harder to pinpoint so look out for both Shiny Pokémon after crossing the bridge.
KirliaKirlia is in a great spot next to Levincia (South). Here you can easily use either the Town or Picnic Method to fast-track your Shiny Hunt. This Pokémon spawns in super close to Levincia, meaning you can easily use the Town Method to your full advantage. These Pokémon stay in families and are located directly to the right of Levincia (South) before crossing the bridge.
Gardevoir/ RaltsNorth Province (Area Three) Pokémon Centre. If you have already visited here you can easily fast-travel to the Centre. If you have not, you will access this area via Glaseado Mountains. Upon fast-travelling to this Centre, begin to head up into the Mountains, this path will show you many Gardevoir and Ralts. Therefore all you need to do is use the Town Method to reset the spawns via the invisible line of North Province (Area Three) and Glaseado Mountains. Alternatively you can do a sweep all the way around the Mountain slope to reset the spawns so you are seeing a larger Pokémon scale in the area.
Tinkatuff Use the Town Method at Zapapico (West) into Dalizapa Passage, Tinkatuff spawns in directly outside of the Zapapico West entrance. This Pokémon can also be found at North Province (Area One) but requires a slower approach of sweeping the area. Look out for brown hammer for Shiny appearance.
Jigglypuff/ WigglytuffHead to North Province (Area One) Pokémon Centre and head west, following the hillside upwards. You will see many Jigglypuff in families with single Wigglytuff. Look out for green eyes on both Pokémon for Shiny appearance. You could use the Picnic Method to increase your chances in this area of Shiny Hunting further.
Fidough/ Dachsbun/ DedenneFound right outside of Medali (East). Use the Town Method of resetting the nearby spawns of the Pokémon. The passage you want to be on to use as part of the Town Method is the Dalizapa Passage.
SlyveonFly to the Alfornado Pokémon Centre and head to the very southern corner of the map (South Province Area Six). Sylveon is a much rarer spawn than others and is a single spawn (not family). Therefore we highly recommend players utilize the Picnic Reset Method here to increase their chances of finding a Shiny Slyveon. You can also use the Day Skip Method to force a Slyveon Mass Outbreak.
KlefkiKlefki can be found through using the Town Method just outside of the east entrance of Alfornado. You want to use the invisible line into Alfornado and then exiting into South Province (Area Six) where Klefki will spawn in, in close proximity to the town. As they are smaller Pokémon, keep a closer eye out on the spawns every time as they can be easy to miss.
Scream Tail/ Flutter Mane (Scarlet)These two Pokémon can be found in Area Zero, inside the Great Crater from Research Station 4. Follow the path upwards and check all the spawned in Scream Tail as you walk up. For Flutter Mane, head down from Research Station 4, following the path downwards. This Pokémon will spawn in this area here. As there are no means of performing a Town Method, your only real means of finding the Shiny Pokémon is through patience and walking away from the spawn to reset the area.
Iron Valiant (Violet)Found outside of Research Station 3 inside the Great Crater of Area Zero. Follow the path down. You will see many Iron Valiant here as single spawns. Similar to Scream Tail/Flutter Mane, your only method of Shiny Hunting here is by popping a Shiny Sandwich and slowly making your way down from the Research Station. De-spawning the Pokémon by walking further away and returning to see if the Shiny Iron Valiant spawns in.

Best Methods to Increase Shiny Odds

Town Method

The Town Method is a great way to increase your Shiny Odds tremendously by doing next to nothing. By popping the necessary Shiny Sandwich to target encountering a specific Pokémon-Type in combination with the Town Method will increase your encountering odds massively. All you need to do for the Town Method is head to a Town/City. From any of the entrances, walk out into the Province where you will see the pop-up for the passage/province you have just walked into. When you return to the Town/City you will see that the pop-up for it will show on your screen. This de-spawns the Pokémon in close proximity to the Town/City. You can use this as the fastest method to reset the nearby spawns.

This method is perfect to use for locating Shiny Fairy Pokémon such as Kirlia, Tinkatuff, Fidough and many more. Using it with a Shiny Sandwich will make your Shiny Hunt a whole lot easier.

Shiny Sandwiches

Shiny Sandwiches are used in the Picnic feature of Scarlet and Violet. They offer players a temporary 30 minute effect to increase a specific ability. In this case, when using it for Shiny Hunting, popping a Shiny Sandwich will increase your chances of finding a specific Pokémon-Type tremendously. Whilst it does not guarantee that you will find a Shiny Pokémon, it removes all the other Typings from the game for those 30 minutes as you are Shiny Hunting. It is an incredibly useful technique to use in combination of either the Town or Picnic Method.

Picnic Reset

As you use the Shiny Sandwiches via the Picnic feature, you may as well exploit the way bringing up a Picnic resets the nearby spawns of wild Pokémon. This can be used similarly to the Town Method and acts as another fast-track method to Shiny Hunting. To increase your odds further instead of endlessly resetting the Picnic, you can follow these steps:

  • First, pop your Fairy Shiny Sandwich using the Picnic function.
  • Knock out a minimum of 60 wild Pokémon in the vicinity.
  • Once 60 are knocked, place down your Picnic and close immediately. This will reset the spawns.
  • Check the surrounding area for Shiny Pokemon, if none appear, repeat the process.
  • You can either knock out more Pokémon through auto-battle or continue to reset the spawns via opening and closing the Picnic.

Day Skip

Another great way is to Day Skip. Although this should be used as a last resort for Pokémon that are on the rarer side of spawning in. For Shiny Fairy Pokémon, this would be when looking for Slyveon. This should only be used if you are trying to force the game to produce a Mass Outbreak. There are better methods to use that are listed above for Pokémon that spawn regularly. This is how to perform a Day Skip in Scarlet and Violet.

  • Set up a Picnic and create the specific Shiny Sandwich you require to remove all other Pokemon Types from the game (for 30 minutes).
  • Turn off autosave and then manually save the game.
  • With your Picnic open and the game running, open the Switch Home Screen.
  • Go to ‘Settings‘ and ‘Date and Time‘.
  • Turn off ‘Synchronize Clock with Internet‘.
  • Manually move the date forward by one day.
  • Return to game, if the Mass Outbreak you are looking for does not appear, turn the game off and then restart. You will see a different Mass Outbreak appear upon restarting.

Shiny Charm

The final method is to obtain a Shiny Charm. This is simple in writing but much harder to achieve. But using a Shiny Charm directly with one of the methods listed above will help you so much in your Shiny Hunt. What you have to do to obtain the Shiny Charm is complete the entire Paldean Pokédex entries. You will receive the Charm as a reward for doing so from Mr. Jacq. The Shiny odds are increased to 1/2044. So using this in the beginning will help you see faster results in combination with any of the methods listed above.
