Best Items to Sell for Money in Scarlet and Violet

Whilst many methods to farm money are through Raid Battling or using specific Pokémon builds in the Ace Academy Tournament, these are not helpful for those just getting started on the game. Therefore, for those looking to farm money, we recommend that you loot the grounds of Paldea. The specific spot to loot and sell the items picked up can be found between Zapipico and Levincia. Refer to the guide below for an exact location. There is so much loot which you can pick up throughout your travels in Paldea, however we recommend you search for:

  • Evolution Stones – Thunder, Fire, Water, ice, Leaf, Moon, Sun, Dawn, Dusk & Shiny.
  • Potions – Super Potion, Hyper Potion and Max Potion.
  • Revives.
  • Wild Pokémon Dropped Items – Coal and Dirt.
  • Rocks.
  • EXP Candies (not available in this method but can be found as floor loot or farmed in Raid Battles).

These, aside from EXP Candies, can be found in bulk depending on the area you are visiting. Because of this, you can reset the item drops and collect many of these items and take to a Poké Mart to sell. Whilst this method may appear slower to that of Raid farming, it is a great method to use for those just getting started on Scarlet and Violet. Increasing your funds helps massively in purchasing sandwich ingredients and buying Special Poké Balls.

Best Method to Use For Farming Money

In this method, you do not need to get yourself a specific Pokemon build, like most farming money guides state. Instead, the goal is to find these items in their set spawn locations in the wilderness of Paldea. This method does not require you to complete the post-game, nor do you need to attempt the Ace Academy Tournament. All you have to do is go to Zapapico in Paldea and search a very specific area for the best loot to pick up. As these always respawn, you can spend approximately an hour per visit to collect these items and sell.

The Spot to Farm Money in Paldea

You need to head to Zapapico first and if you have already visited here, fast-travel to the East entrance of the City. Head into East Province (Area Three) and follow the path. Alternatively, you can use the fast-travel to East Province (Area Three) Watchtower which will take you close to the area you need to be in to loot. Refer to the screenshot below of the map and an exact location of the looting spot. Once you find the specific area with the relevant loot you need to pick up, begin your search around this area, targeting the highlighted black circles on the map. As seen below, the blue square highlights the East Province Watchtower, showing how close it is to the area you need to loot.

Below is a zoomed out screenshot of the specific area of East Province (Area Three) that you need to visit. As you can see, it is relatively close to the east city of Levincia. Create whichever path you want to pick up the highlighted items in the screenshot above. All of these items respawn in the exact spots, meaning you can revisit this place daily to increase your funds. This is crucial in Shiny Hunting or Auctioning for Special Poké Balls.

How to Reset and Sell the Items

Collect all of the items, from evolution stones to potions and dropped items from wild Pokémon in the area. Once obtained, return to your starting point in the area and manually save your game. Then, close Scarlet and Violet and open the Switch Home Screen. Scroll to the ‘Settings’ and go into ‘Date and Time‘. From here you need to manually change the time to 2 hours forward. This will reset the item drops where you can repeat the process as many times as you like.

Once you have collected all of the items in the area, resetting as many times as you would like, take these to your nearest Poké Mart. Here you can sell everything you have collected, including Bulk Selling. The amount you receive from selling varies on how much you collected in East Province (Area Three).
