10 Best Items in Enter the Gungeon

Metronome – passive

With Metronome, you will be slowly ramping up damage, giving you a potentially staggeringly powerful gun. Every hot with the gun will increase your damage by 2%, but this bonus will reset if you take damage, or switch your weapon. If you pick up a new gun, however, the bonus will not reset, effectively transferring to the new gun.

A little quaver (music note) will appear above the player’s head, and with each hit and bonus increase, the note will go higher in pitch and change colour. When the note is red, then your bonus is at the maximum, which is a mighty 150%.

Super Hot Watch – passive

Akin to the namesake, this watch will slow time down dramatically as long as you are standing still. This does also slow you down, but you can use that time to make calculated and life-saving decisions, such as moving out of the way of projectiles, or placing traps.

This is especially useful when you enter a room and need to pause to get a read, to see what enemies you’d better prepare for. It also comes in handy when you need to perfectly time a dodge.

The Singularity – active

This item allows you to spawn a black hole, which sucks in all enemies and bullets in a radius. All the projectiles will be destroyed, and all the enemies will take damage. Bosses are immune to this effect, however.

This item is great if you are in a pinch and are saving your blanks for bosses or secret rooms. That would be recommended, as the singularity damages the enemies, effectively making this the superior option to a blank.

Duct Tape – active

Duct Tape is an active item that does something everyone with more than one favorite gun wants to do. Combine them. If you have two fantastic weapons that you can’t decide between, then Duct Tape allows you to have your cake and eat it by combining them both, allowing you to essentially shoot both guns at once, through one barrel.

When combining, the first gun will get erased from your inventory to merge with the second gun, so all of its synergies will be erased. However, the ammo count from both guns will be combined. You can use duct tape over and over again, to create a huge, ungodly weapon of mass destruction.

Reloadstone – active

The Reloadstone is a great piece of kit that protects you and helps you. Whilst active, any incoming projectiles get absorbed upon contact with you and gets turned into ammo. You are immune to projectile damage whilst this is active.

Best used in a crowded room to maximize ammo-grabbing, you’re going to want to switch to your weapon with little ammo to restock it. When simply being held, your reload time is halved.

Super Space Turtle – passive

Turtles have never been more heroic. With this ability, a little turtle familiar will spawn, dealing 5 damage to other enemies. But that is not the sole reason this ability is on the list. When combined with Turtle Problem, the synergy Turtle Solutions will activate.

That synergy will mean that a Super Space Turtle will spawn after every cleared room, to a maximum of four, giving you a little army.

Partially-Eaten Cheese – active

I know Enter the Gungeon is great and all, but you ever in the mood for some Pac-Man? This item allows you to combine the best of both worlds and become an invulnerable monster-consuming entity. And the best thing is, you can still use your gun.

Bosses will not be consumed instantly, however, but will take 30 damage. However, this item can only be unlocked by defeating the Resourceful Rat, but is one of the items needed to become him. Go figure.

Lich’s Eye Bullets – passive

You want power? This bullet upgrade will give you power. Every gun that you have will, with this item, benefit from all of their synergies. This means that you can benefit from bonuses without needing their counterparts to activate.

Powerful guns will now become super powerful, as your weapons reach their maximum potential. This will make you near unstoppable in the gungeon, but it can only be unlocked by defeating the Lich in combat.

The Clone – passive

Hopefully you don’t have any moral conflictions with this item, because it will save your run for sure. This clone will allow you another chance if you die in battle, allowing you to respawn at the beginning of the floor with all of your items and weapons, aside from the clone item, naturally.

Pig – passive

This pile of bacon may just seem like a useless pig, but it may end up saving your bacon. The Pig will do absolutely nothing except follow you around. But, when down to your last life, the Pig will jump in front of the next bullet that will kill you, inspiring you. This will refill you hearts and give you a second chance without having to respawn back to the beginning of the floor.
