Best Gunslinger Build for Leveling in Remnant 2

This town ain't big enough for a squad filled with Gunslingers

Who doesn’t want to be the cowboy in an apocalyptic world? But to become the cowboy at the beginning of the game, players must pre-purchase Remnant 2, otherwise this exclusive Archetype could become forgotten and who wants that? The Gunslinger Archetype is very unique for a Souls-like game as it truly capsulates the gun-only experience in Remnant 2. Unlike other Classes that focus around healing or being able to absorb damage, the Gunslinger is a versatile weapons handler, capable of rocking any weapon type and can be sufficient in all circumstances. It is the perfect Class for a team composition to be based around, with supportive Archetypes centred around the Gunslinger. But whether or not you are playing this Archetype solo is up to you, this is Vincent’s guide on the best Gunslinger Build to use in Remnant 2.

What is the Best Gunslinger Build in Remnant 2?

For those picking a Primary Archetype, the Gunslinger is only available to those who pre-purchased Remnant 2. But do not fret as the Gunslinger is still in the game but you will have to take a different route to unlocking it as opposed to the pre-purchase bonus. This means that when choosing your Gunslinger Build, you will want to pick your Primary Archetype based on later picking up the Gunslinger as your Secondary. Regardless, the Gunslinger can be switched out via the Character Menu Screen so that his Loaded Prime Perk is enabled for this Build.

Depending on whether or not you have Gunslinger at the beginning of the game will determine what Secondary Archetype you choose. As you will not have an abundance of Lumenite Crystals and Scrap to spend on obtaining the Multi-Class feature, you may be more inclined to go for the easiest option. Because of this, we highly recommend starting out with Hunter as your Primary Archetype and unlocking Gunslinger later down the line, upon entering Ward 13 where you need to find Mudtooth and listen to his tales. Once you have Gunslinger as your Secondary Archetype, switch Classes so that his Loaded Perk becomes the central aspect of the Build.

To switch Archetypes, go to the Character Menu and hover over the Primary Archetype Icon at the top-left corner of the screen. From here, you can switch out your Primary with any Secondary you purchased or obtained via either Ward 13 or through exploring the Remnant 2 world.

Hunter and Gunslinger Build Summary

The Gunslinger and Hunter Build is currently the best DPS Build in Remnant 2 and is highly recommended for solo players. You will want to have the Bullet Storm Skill equipped for Gunslinger and Hunter’s Mark for Hunter. These Skills can run at the exact same time, providing you with spatial awareness, critical damage markers against enemies and the increased fire rate and reload speed for your weapons for 20-25 seconds with both Skills enabled. It is great to run this Build with long-ranged bolt-action Rifles that deal great damage from the get go such as Huntmaster as its damage will be increased with the Bullet Storm and Hunter’s Mark for those 25 seconds of a fight.

Although the cooldown for both Skills is approximately 1 minute, you will be able to utilize this Build to shoot from a distance and recognise the enemy’s weak spots to abuse as you wait for the cooldown to end. The only con to this Build is the fact that is does not have as great as movability as other Classes and due to this Archetype combination, you may find that you are having to do more running against mobile enemies rather than hitting consistent and clinical critical shots. However, this Build works just as good, if not better against boss fights with allies. Your teammates can provide support and take the attention away from the enemy so that you can rain in bullets from afar.

The best thing about this Gunslinger Build is that you actually produce higher damage the further away you are. This in combination with allies that are using Medic or Handler Builds can help support you should you need it whilst you use your Skills and Perks in an order that allows you to consistently shoot your weapon from afar and rarely have to reload your primary.

That was our recommendation on the best Gunslinger Build to use in Remnant 2. This Build is works for both solo and co-op players. Keep in mind however that you will want to upgrade your Dragon Heart Relic Charges so that you can keep yourself health in a fight.
