Best Fish Mounts in WoW

Want to look good while swimming the Azeroth seas?

If you want to be noticed while riding around Azeroth waters, you need to have the coolest mount right? Similarly, when traveling on land, or flying across the blue skies on your flying mounts, you don’t have the same feeling when you are sitting on a common one compared to a rare and unique one!

Best Aquatic Mounts in WoW

There are dozens of fish mounts (or Aquatic mounts as they’re officially called) available in WoW and you can get them either from quests, drops, vendors, or through fishing. Besides looking good, they usually boost your speed in the water by 60% (not counting any additional bonuses you may have). But, regardless of where they come from, we created a list of what we believe are the best-looking ones. Check it out below.

Surf Jelly

Surf Jelly doesn’t remind us of any other mounts and is quite unique. Instead of riding a long and horizontal creature, you have on your hands a tall and vertical one. This six-legged jellyfish mount can be acquired through 3-player events called Island Expeditions. It requires level 10 and Apprentice Riding before you can ride it in the waters of Azeroth. You’re bound to get noticed by your friends when you come to meet them with this mount!

Sea Turtle

Sea Turtle is an awesome aquatic mount that can both serve you in water and on land! Contrary to popular belief, turtles aren’t slow (at least in WoW) and can get you places quite fast. You can fish out a Sea Turtle in level 70+ zones, or a fishing pool called Shipwreck Debris near Darkmoon Island. Further, you can get it as a rare drop from Deep Sea Murlocs Frostdeep Cavedweller and Lunarfall Cavedweller. Sea Turtle is pretty rare so don’t get disappointed if you don’t get it after a couple of tries. Note that you’ll need Apprentice Riding for this mount.

Darkwater Skate

No, it’s not actually a skateboard that you get to ride on the seafloor (although it looks like it!). Darkwater Skate is an armored stingray mount with which you get to run your quest errands in the deep sea. You can get it at the Darkmoon Island from the blood elf vendor Galissa Sundew for the price of 500 Darkmoon Daggermaw. You can get this currency by either fishing for it around Darkmoon Island or buying it with gold. You’ll need to be level 17 and have Journeyman Riding for this mount.

Vashj’ir Seahorse

Vashj’ir Seahorse is a mighty-looking seahorse which you will get as a quest reward from the Abyssal Ride. Unlike other mounts that boost your speed by 60%, this one buffs you up with a 450% swimming speed. But, the speed boost comes with a downside as well. This mount can only be ridden in Vashj’ir waters. So if you want to take advantage of this mount’s godly speeds we suggest you always have another aquatic mount with you that you can use in other waters while hopping on Vashj’ir Seahorse when you arrive in Vashj’ir. Vashj’ir Seahorse requires you to be level 30 and have Expert Riding.

Crimson Tidestallion

Crimson Tidestallion is one of the rarest and the best fish mounts you can get your hands on. This red seahorse can only be acquired on rare occasions from the vendor Mrrl in Nazjatar and it will cost you an arm and a leg. When you have a rare occasion to catch up while Mrrl is selling it you’ll need to pay for this mount with 4x Cultist Pinky Finger, 1x Hunger Herald’s Tentacle Taco, and 2x Pulsating Blood Stone while equipped with Azsh’ari Stormsurger Cape. Lastly, you will need to have War Mode activated. On the bright side, his formal requirements are level 10 and Apprentice Riding.
