Best Essence Stones in Atlas Fallen

What Essence Stones should be in your Gauntlet?

When building your character in Atlas Fallen, most of your build revolves around your powerful Gauntlet and its Essence Stones. Since Essence Stones are literally the active and passive skills that you can activate and swap all the time, they are essential (pun intended) for your gameplay and they can either make your life easier or harder depending on whether you pick the right ones or the wrong ones.

Top Essence Stones in Atlas Fallen

As we mentioned, the choice of Essence Stones is very sensitive in this game since much of your experience will depend on how you are going to dodge, disable, and attack your enemies. Various Wraith and other monsters are pretty tough and you want to have a reliable damage output to deal with anyone that crosses your way, and not hope to the gods of luck and RNG that you won’t die in every fight.

Essence Stones will be found all over the map and while some of them will give you a completely new active skill that you can unleash, others will give you passive bonuses that will boost your existing moves. Keep in mind that higher-level Essence Stones will require a bit of crafting materials as well as indispensable Essence Core.

Here’s the list of best Essence Stones in Atlas Fallen according to us!

Dazzling Impact

Dazzling Impact is a Tier 1 Tricks Essence Stone that allows you to perform an AoE hammer attack that interrupts enemies and leaves them vulnerable. Really good solution when you are getting overrun and need a quick move that will get plenty of enemies off your back.

You can get your hands on Dazzling Impact by visiting an NPC Researcher in Shattered Keep Cellars, in Caladrias: The Forbidden Lands. He will give you a recipe to make this Essence Stone from 1x Essence Core, 1x Meadow Cinth, and 2x Coppery Ore.

Piercing Parry

This Tier 2 Essence Stone is a Tricks one that adds quite an interesting passive power to your Gauntlet. Namely, it allows you to freely attack your enemies for a couple of seconds after a successful parry. It renders them defenseless during those couple of seconds and it even works on elites.

To get the Piercing Parry Essence Stone you need to travel to Bastengar’s Underground and look for a gate leading to Sunken City. Interact with the NPC Knight standing there and he will give you the Essence Stone (no crafting, yay!).

Unstable Generation

Unstable Generation is considered by some to be the best Essence Stone in the game. However, we’ve put this Tier 1 passive stone in third spot because it’s kind of a double-edged sword. It increases the speed of your Momentum generation thus allowing you to wreak havoc on Wraiths and other monsters. However, it will decrease your Momentum if you get hit, so we recommend that you use this Essence Stone only if you are confident in your dodges and attacking combo skills.

To get the Unstable Generation, you need to go to Watchtower and engage Fury Scimmur. This won’t be an easy fight since you will be surrounded and attacked by multiple different enemies. But, when you defeat them all, including the Fury Scimmur you will find the Unstable Generation in the Watchtower.

Ruthless Slayer

Ruthless Slayer is a Tier 2 passive Essence Stone that can be your best damage-boosting ally if you know how to play it right. This skill gives you a damage buff for all your attacks that lasts for 12 seconds whenever you kill an enemy or destroy their body parts.

What this really means is that when you are facing a mob with different-level monsters, you need to focus on one of the weakest ones first and kill it ASAP to get the buff. Once you have the damage boost go for the big guy and lash out at him. Once the buff wears out you can again look for a weak body part of a bigger enemy or a small enemy that you can defeat quickly and reset this damage increase.

Get the Ruthless Slayer by going to the City of the Sun and finding a chest that has both Formulas for Ruthless Slayer and Ruthless Generation. To create the Ruthless Slayer Stone Essence you’ll need 1x Essence Core, 1x Fiery Leave, and 1x Silver Ore.

Evasive Burst

One of the ultimate Essence Stones in Atlas Fallen is the Tier 1 Evasive Burst. It is a great AoE tool for clearing out enemies with the speed of light. What this skill essentially does is give you the power to send out a powerful explosion/wave around you after every evasion or an Air Dash. As you upgrade it, both the Stone’s damage and radius increase.

So, when you encounter a mob of monsters, you literally just need to evade an Air Dash around them without even hitting them, and just watch how their HP melts. You can find Evasive Burst in the North part of Caladria, west of the ruined city’s walls. You’ll find it on a wooden scaffolding leaning on a mountain.
