Best Camera Settings for F1 23

The full leaning back experience

With a variety of different camera angles to utilize in F1 23 it can be tough figuring out what is best to use to overtake the pack and get first place. Being a gamer who prioritizes the ability to see what is in close proximity to the driver at all times mid-race in games such as Need for Speed, opting for those being-the-wheel camera angles always felt a little overwhelming. But not only do these Settings provide a more realistic simulation of Formula 1 races but, they also provide an in-game advantage to hone in on your driving skills and focus on the task at hand – getting first place. This is Vincent’s guide on the best Camera Settings to use in F1 23.

What are the Best Camera Settings to Use in F1 23?

Although car games are typically all about providing players with the most realistic simulation of driving in intense circuit or drifting races, there are specific Settings that you should disable. The Settings you must disable Camera Shake and Movement which should be reduced to 0 via Camera Customisation Settings. This will help keep you focussed and limit disorientation that can occur through executing corners or spinning out mid-race. There are 3 angles that you should opt for in F1 23 and the choice between the set is determined primarily to your preferences. The options are: Cockpit, TV-Pod and TV-Pod Offset. The Camera Customisation Settings we recommend using for F1 23 are:

  • Edit Camera Settings – Global
  • Camera – TV-Pod
  • Field of View (FOV) – -10
  • Offset: Lateral – 0
  • Offset: Horizontal – 2
  • Offset: Vertical – 16
  • Angle – -20
  • Near Clip Plane -20
  • Mirror Angle – 0
  • Camera Shake – 0
  • Camera Movement – 0
  • Look to Apex Limit – 4
  • Halo Column – Off

If you do not like the thought of constantly having to look left and right to peer through your rear-view windows on Cockpit Cam, you can adjust to a higher FOV which will pull the driver further to the back of the car, giving you easy visibility of what is both in front and to the side of you. This really is down to your personal preference as either can feel disorientating if you are not used to the perspective of playing directly behind the wheel. However, for those who want to see everything on a single screen, set the FOV to 13 and those who want the most realistic experience, set the FOV to -10.

Those playing on TV-Pod Camera Settings should set your FOV on -10 will do what the Cockpit Cam offers by combining the look of both Settings listed above. You will be able to see the through the rear-view mirrors with ease whilst having an appropriate and realistic view of the car and track ahead of you. You will also have clear vision of any cars in your close vicinity whilst being able to look behind you without feeling disorientated. For this reason, we highly recommend that F1 players use the TV-Pod Camera. This angle offers realism whilst giving players an appropriate amount of time to react to other cars on the track or to hit perfect corners into long straights.

That was our recommended Camera Settings for F1 23, regardless of if you are playing on Controller or with a Steering Wheel. For more on the latest video game, content and guides, be sure to see all GJ related articles here. Thank you for reading this guide.
