Best Build for Maruto in Vampire Survivors

This build will have you ripping and tearing through guts.

Since its initial release back in October of 2020, Vampire Survivors has taken the entire gaming community by storm. A perfect example of a game that’s easy to learn, and hard to master. Developers at poncle have not slowed down since releasing the game, launching 2 DLCs boasting new characters, levels, and more for a rock bottom price. The latest DLC, Tides of the Foscari introduced a new character that might look a bit familiar to some anime inclined people. Maruto slams down with their massive sword and tons of great passive bonuses. But their power doesn’t stop there, as with the right items selected, you can create an absolute demon in this guy. Let’s slice and dice and take a look at the best build for Maruto in Vampire Survivors.

Maruto Cuts (yes that’s the actual name), much like most other characters in Vampire Survivors, needs to be unlocked before you can use him. This can be done in two different ways. The normal way requires you to unite the weapons SpellString, SpellStream, and SpellStrike. If you don’t feel like spending all that time uniting all those weapons, you can head on over to the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane and cast the spell “animeismypassion”. Maruto has a passive bonus that gives him +1 armor every time he is attacked with a 10 second cooldown. This ability combined with certain items will make you a force to be reckoned with.

For the best survivability while using Maruto, it’s recommended to acquire items that help with survivability and retaliatory damage. Specifically, the best items you can get for Maruto would be Crimson Shroud, Victory Sword, and Legionnaire. Crimson Shroud is the evolution of laurel, combined with both Metaglio left and right. The Victory Sword on the other hand, is the main weapon for Queen Sigma and can be unlocked by defeating 100,000 enemies as Queen Sigma in one run. Finally, Legionnaire is the evolution of Maruto’s main weapon, and can be evolved by obtaining armor. It’s also worth noting if you want to completely decimate the enemies, the arcana Divine Bloodline and the Sole Solution item will be the last things you’ll need.
