When I say you’re out of luck, it is because of the mere drop rates or possibilities of finding a square shiny in the wild. They drop chances have been brought back all the way from Sword and Shield.
That means that there is a 1 in 4,096 chance to encounter a shiny Pokémon, and on top of that, there is 1 in 16 chance of those shiny Pokémon to be square shinies. So, the average chance of encountering a shiny Pokémon in the wild is 1 in 65,536. That’s what I call lucky. Of course, there are some ways you can increase the chance of finding shiny Pokémon like eating a sandwich with Sparkling Power or getting a shiny charm, so those things can help you get a square shiny as well.
