Amanda the Adventurer Beginner’s Guide

The primary goal in Amanda the Adventurer is to complete puzzles to get to the next Episode of the TV Show. The entire game takes place in an Attic and what we must tell you is that many of your surrounding items will shift and change around you. Do not worry, this is purposeful for the Tape you have inserted into the TV. If you are playing this game without any clues or going in blind and are looking for a bit of guidance on how to complete Amanda the Adventurer, we have you covered. This guide will address how to get started in your investigation of the Amanda the Adventurer TV Show.

Take in EVERYTHING on the Tapes

Our first GJ recommendation is an important one, you must look at every part of the Tapes. You do have the opportunity to revisit Tapes whenever you like, so do not worry if you miss key information. But there is important codes and secrets inside every Tape you insert. You will be able to get a Pause function in the game later on, but this will likely be in your second playthrough. Following this, you will have to play this game multiple times in order to see everything and get all 5 Endings in Amanda the Adventurer. back on the point that you need to look at everything the Tape has to offer, you should focus on the set/surroundings where Amanda and Wooly play.

If you are simply trying to get more Tapes, you do not need to pay attention to the specific dialogue lines of Amanda and Wooly, instead you should refer to the background for key pieces of information that will be useful for the puzzles around the Attic. In every Tape, you will find at least one code/secret inside it, especially when you find the Alternate versions of the Tapes. Look at posters, building signs and anything that has numbers on it at the beginning of the game, these will be crucial to completing the Piano Puzzle and Clock Puzzle. If and when Amanda points out a specific detail that sounds more important than other parts of the dialogue, it most likely is. For example, when Amanda says that it is 3:45 when Wooly injures his knee, you need to make note of that time.

With this in mind, you should either have your Phone or a piece of paper with a pen, to make notes when numbers, codes or other out-of-place things begin to appear on the screen. For example, note the capitalization of specific letters for the Stores in ‘In Your Neighbourhood’ Tape. Anything that looks out of place will be related to a puzzle inside the Attic. Everything needs to be remembered so that you can either translate it into the Piano or input as numbers via one of the locked containers inside the Attic.

All Answers Can Found in the Tapes

When you are attempting to complete the puzzles in the Attic, every single thing you need for combinations is located inside the Tapes. Keep in mind that you will also need to complete multiple puzzles for the same item, for example, there are a total of 3 Piano Codes you need for multiple Ending paths. When you are completing a puzzle via the central table (connected to the Tapes), all of the information you need can be found inside the Tapes. You will not need to think outside of the Box or in this case, the Tapes in order to work out what the puzzle solution is. So when you are completing puzzles such as the Coloring Book, Clock Puzzle or conducting a Weather Report, you need to remember what you had just seen/experienced from the Tape you just played.

Listen to the Dialogue When you are Asked Something by Amanda

Next, make sure that you listen to Amanda whenever she is asking you something. In your first playthrough, you want to get the correct answers so that you can obtain the Safe Code for the Pause function. Whilst it can be fun to tease Amanda and test her limits by purposely getting the answers wrong, if you are trying to progress through the story it is best to pay attention to what she is asking. Of course, when you are trying to get other Endings, Achievements or trying to find every secret in Amanda the Adventurer, this is when you can experiment with what you say to Amanda when the choice is given.

Amanda will say a lot of helpful things in the Original Tapes that you will need for the first puzzles in the Attic. She is basically guiding you on how to get to the final Tape so that she can get what she desires, your friendship.

Read the Bulletin Board

Throughout the game, you should be checking the Bulletin Board. This will change multiple times throughout your playthrough, therefore it is something you should not walk by assuming that it is simply a part of the background. The Board originally has a lot of important information on both the backstory and Aunt Kate. It is incredibly useful information to retain as you go into the Tapes as sometimes you will need to refer back to the information you have read to get through a Tape or to get an Achievement. So do not neglect reading some info via the Board.

Secrets Unlock Colorful Tapes

Unlike the main Episodes from the Show, there are Secret Tapes that you can find through testing out different dialogue options or working out puzzles that do not require combinations such as giving the Red Doll her bow in the Attic. These Secret Tapes can be found both inside the Tapes and the Attic. We recommend you trying to solve all puzzles in the Attic before going through to the Amanda the Adventurer Ending. These are the Red Doll and Oven puzzles. Of course, if you have the Pause function in the game (obtained after Gruesome Ending), you will be able to utilize this to its full potential which will let you get the Alternate Tapes.

Pause Whenever you Can

We do not mean this to be taken so literally. You should not pause on every frame in the game but you should be using it whenever something different appears on the screen. You will note that there are some codes/posters you may have seen in the Original Tapes but could not do anything with. This is because they are needed for later puzzles and in other playthroughs of the game if you are playing it with no help whatsoever, that is. But after you get the Pause function, pay extra attention to the surroundings and not on Amanda or Wooly. This is because the majority of the game’s secrets can be seen behind the cast of the Show, rather than through dialogue or what the characters are interacting with.

The Pause function will allow you to move onto a new path of the game after obtaining the first Bad Ending of Amanda the Adventurer. When you Pause, you can exit the TV screen and look around the Attic, there is things that you can easily interact with as they are linked directly to the Episode you are watching. If you Pause, write down the information and continue playing until the end to then input what information you have just learnt, you will not be able to move on to the next Tape or complete any puzzles this way. So if you see something that requires a Pause for you to copy its information or you see the Pause button show up on screen, make sure you use this function, exit out of the screen and use what you have seen inside the Attic itself.
