All Weapons and Guns and How to Earn Them in Choo Choo Charles

What's cooler than a train? A heavily-armed train.

The idea of a steam-powered train armed with high-caliber weaponry tickles a very particular kind of four-grade appeal for me. Trains are already awesome, but you know what’s more awesome? A battle train. Here are all the weapons and guns and how to earn them in Choo Choo Charles.

All Weapons and Guns and How to Earn Them in Choo Choo Charles

In Choo Choo Charles, your most powerful weapons are all equipped to your personal train for the express purpose of battling against the titular spider-train monster thing. Having all of these weapons unlocked is a vital step on the checklist for preparing for your final battle against Charles, and even before then, they’re also handy for throwing Charles off your trail while traveling.

There are four different guns available for you to equip on your train’s gunner platform:

  • The Derailer: Your default heavy machine gun, available from the start of the game.
  • The Bug Spray: A mid-range flamethrower, good for shooing Charles away in a chase.
  • The Boomer: A rocket launcher that sacrifices firing speed for stopping power.
  • Bob: An rapid-fire anti-tank rifle, packing the pinnacle in damage and fire rate.

Whenever you unlock a new weapon, it’ll be mounted on the wall of your train’s cab. You can swap them on the fly by interacting with them, even when you’re in the middle of a fight, which you’ll want to get into the habit of doing when one of them overheats.

Find the red waypoint on the far-east part of the island. Right next to the furthest eastern point you can get to on the rail, you’ll meet an NPC who accidentally set their house on fire. Climb the stairs next to the burning house to activate the water tower valve, extinguishing the flame. You’ll be rewarded with the Bug Spray as thanks.

Unlocking the Boomer

At the most northeastern part of the railway, you’ll find a bomb-testing area. The door to the main building is locked, but in the center part of the area, you can find a stick of dynamite to blow it open. The Boomer’s missiles are located in the middle of the room; grab them to unlock the weapon.

Unlocking Bob

Find the red waypoint on the northwestern part of the island. You’ll meet an NPC whose husband was working on a powerful weapon. She’ll give you half the weapon, but you’ll need to find the other half yourself. She’ll add a marker for the stronghold where they’re held, but before you visit it, go to the small building up the hill from it. Inside this building, you’ll find a key on a table. Sneak into the stronghold and use the key to open the door on the far side, where you’ll find the other half of the weapon, named “Bob” after the NPC’s late husband.

With all four weapons locked and loaded on your train, you’ll have a genuine chance of taking down Charles. Though, you might wanna get some scrap to upgrade your train before you get ahead of yourself.
