You can't rush greatness when it comes to choosing the right wand.

The global release of Harry Potter Magic Awakened marks the first time many players will be trying the game out. Once locked behind region specific versions and a few betas, it’s finally time for everyone to hop back into the Wizarding World. Taking on the role of a new student at Hogwarts, the game comes equipped with all the bells and whistles attached to that. You’ll get your letter, go to Diagon Alley, and even be able to get your very own wand. While the actual decision making of the wand is a bit different than people might have thought, developers thought of a way around this dilemma. So let’s go to Olivanders and take a look at all wands in Harry Potter Magic Awakened and which one to choose.

Sadly, players won’t be able to get to pick their wand from a list of multiple options a-la Hogwarts Legacy. When first arriving at Olivanders, players will start out by testing one wand before finding the “right” wand the second try. The Giant’s Bane will be the first and technically only wand players will get in the game.

However, this is remedied by the fact that players can collect Wand Skins. These skins serve as different wands cosmetically, as well as stats wise. New Wand Skins can be collected through the Magic pass, Prize Wheel, or by going back to Olivanders and looking at his limited selection. Without further dilly dally, let’s see just what kind of Wand Skins you can collect as well as what their attributes are.

Which Wand to Choose in Harry Potter Magic Awakened

As you can see, most wands are separated by certain attributes that they can have. These can be entirely situational, which is why there is no definitive best wand in the game. Some situations might be better with an extra Dueling Club Rescue Attempt, while others will benefit more from Magic Regen or Proficiency. And since all of these wands won’t just be sitting in Olivanders shop, making sure you have attributes that suit your situation works better than having the “best” wand you’ve collected.
