The last game in the series, Silent Hill Downpour was a disappointing game to many and Konami had seemingly moved on from the franchise after the cancellation of Silent Hills. This week, fans received great news as a Silent Hill showcase, the Silent Hill Transmission, focused on upcoming Silent Hill games and projects took place. Silent Hill 2 Remake
The game fans had been asking for the most other than a new entry was a remake of Silent Hill 2. For years rumors have circulated regarding a potential Silent Hill 2 remake. During the Silent Hill Transmission, it was announced that a remake of the popular survival horror game was indeed real. The game was announced with a 4K trailer showing in-game cutscenes. The game will be coming to PC via Steam and will be a PS5 console exclusive. No release date was given.
Silent Hill Townfall
One of the other Silent Hill games announced was Silent Hill Townfall. We don’t know much about this game as the trailer is pretty short and vague. What we do know is that the game will be a collaboration between Annapurna Interactive and No Code Studios. Annapurna is most well-known for their game Stray which received critical acclaim when it was released this past summer. No Code Studios are a BAFTA award-winning studio behind games such as Stories Untold and Observation. This game does not have a release date yet.
Silent Hill F
The third game announced during the Silent Hill Transmission was Silent Hill F. This game will be set in Japan during the 1960s and, according to Konami, will feature “a beautiful, yet horrifying world.” The game’s story will be written by Ryūkishi07, who is well-known for his visual novels dealing with murder mysteries and horror. Like the other games announced, this one also has no release date.
