All Superstar X-Factors Available in NHL 23
Superstar X-Factors are a variety of special abilities that can be equipped onto your players in NHL 23. These abilities can provide subtler benefits, like increased stats in a particular field, as well as more overt improvements like mid-match energy boosts. Every player has one Zone Ability, which provides the greatest effect, as well as three Superstar Abilities, which function the same, but at a slightly diminished rate.

Superstar X-Factors are broken up into six categories based on the precise skill or stat they augment:
- Shooting: Speed and strength of shots
- Passing: Speed and ease of passing between players
- Skating: Ease in changing direction, higher movement speed
- Defending: Blocking shots
- Goaltending: Saving shots and increasing range
- Hockey IQ: Fundamentals like interceptions, breakaways, and drives

- Shnipe: Improves puck settling
- One Tee: Improves one-timers
