Through means that have still remained mysterious since the very first Pokemon games, Evolutionary Stones seem to contain the very essence of certain Pokemon energies. How did a random rock absorb the essence of a Fire-type Pokemon, for instance? No idea! But you rub a Fire Stone on certain Pokemon, and say hello to your new Fire-type. Here are all the Fire Stone Evolution Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
All Fire Stone Evolution Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Fire Stones are Evolutionary items in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, stored in the Other Items section of your Bag. To use a Fire Stone on a Pokemon to evolve it is very simple; just put the Pokemon you want to evolve in your party, select the Fire Stone from your bag, and use it on them the same way you’d use a Potion or what have you.

Of course, as with other Evolutionary Stones, the catch is that not all Pokemon are compatible with them. You can’t just rub a Fire Stone on any random Fire-type and expect it to evolve. Only a handful of Pokemon can evolve through the use of a Fire Stone, and in those Pokemons’ cases, a Fire Stone is the only way to make them evolve (or at least evolve into a particular form in one case).
Fire Stone Evolutions
The following Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can evolve through the use of a Fire Stone:
- Capsakid Evolves into Scovillain
- Eevee Evolves into Flareon
- Growlithe Evolves into Arcanine
As a reminder, you can find Fire Stones out in the wild, receive them as random rewards for clearing Tera Raids, or purchase them from a Delibird Presents shop in one of Paldea’s major cities. You will need to have defeated at least 3 Gym Leaders before they start stocking them, though.
Remember, when using an Evolutionary Stone to evolve a Pokemon, they’ll evolve then and there, regardless of level. Some Pokemon learn moves by leveling up in their earlier forms that they won’t learn in their evolved forms, so you might want to level a Pokemon up a bit before you use that Fire Stone.
