What are the Dusk and Dawn Stones?

The Dusk and Dawn Stones in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are Evolutionary Stones used to evolve specific Pokémon. Due to the large number of Stones in the game, the Pokémon that are evolved by these Stones are limited. Most Evolutionary Stones evolve an average of two Pokémon. The region of Paldea has introduced players to a brand new Pokedex, with many new Generation 9 additions. The Stones, however, predominantly evolve that of the older Generation Pokémon. Dusk and Dawn Stone Pokémon List

The Pokemon that can be evolved using the Dusk and Dawn Stone in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are:

Dawn

  • Snorunt into Froslass
  • Kirlia into Gallade

Unlike any other Evolutionary Stones, the Dawn Stone has specifications when evolving Pokémon. The criteria crucial to using the Dawn Stone is to catch a female Snorunt and a male Kirlia. This will not work if you have a male Snorunt or a female Kirlia. Because of this criterion, the process of evolving these Pokémon is more difficult than others. Players must first locate these Pokémon and then make sure that they catch the correct sex to evolve.

Dusk

  • Murkrow into Honchkrow
  • Misdreavus into Mismagius

Where to Find the Dawn Pokémon: Snorunt and Kirlia

Snorunt

This Pokémon is located in the snowy region of Glaseado Mountain. It has a very common spawn rate, of a 60% spawn probability. Snorunt can be found in North Province (Area One) and Glaseado Mountain. When players get to this area, Snorunt should be very easy to find and catch. At this point in the game, Snorunt appears as a Level range of 15-39.

Kirlia

Kirlia is located in the Glaseado Mountain and the provinces, West (Area Two) and East (Area Two). Alternatively, players can locate Ralts first and level the Pokémon to Level 20 and evolve into Kirlia. In both instances, players must catch a male Ralts or Kirlia. Ralts can be found in the Los Platos area in the province, South Area One. Ralts is seen, although rarely, in the mountainous regions of South Province (Area One). This may be more obtainable however than catching a Kirlia as you could pick up a Ralts very early in the game.

Where to Find the Dusk Pokémon: Murkrow and Misdreavus

Murkrow

Murkrow is a very common Pokémon to locate. This Pokémon is located in the majority of provinces and areas on the Paldea map. From the Southern Provinces (Areas One, Three, Four and Six) to the Eastern Provinces (One, Two and Three) and finally at the Western Provinces (Two and Three). Murkrow can also be found in the Asado Desert, Glaseado Mountain, and can be picked up early in the game in Los Platos. Players are most likely to run into Murkrow in the Towns.

Misdreavus

Players should search for Misdreavus in the Southern Provinces (Areas One, Four, Five and Six). With a 60% respawn probability, Misdreavus is likely to appear predominately in areas surrounded by water. Players can only find this Pokémon at nighttime. Whilst Misdreavus appears in Western and Northern Paldea regions, we recommend that players search the Southern areas first to find Misdreavus and focus on looking around Lakes such as the Casseroya.
