All Confirmed Weapons for Like a Dragon: Ishin

Ready to become the coolest samurai around?

Tension boils in 1867 during the later years of the Edo Period. As a plethora of national conflicts arise in Japan, the country divides itself into factions that will do whatever it takes to get their way. Meanwhile, Sakamoto Ryōma gets wrapped up in the political discord while he embarks on a quest to avenge the murder of someone he loves.

Learn Ryōma’s tale in this Yakuza spin-off set in the samurai era of Japan. Besides an incredible storyline, players will experience dynamic fighting styles and weapons on this epic journey with previous Yakuza and Like a Dragon characters. I’ll go over all weapons and types of combat you can expect in Like a Dragon: Ishin.

All Confirmed Weapons and Combat Styles in Like a Dragon: Ishin

One trailer of the game shows four exhilarating combat styles: Brawler, Swordsman, Gunman, and Wild Dancer.

Most people wouldn’t label bare hands as weapons, but I’m going to do so! As a Brawler, you can venture back to the roots of martial arts with your fists of steel. Land your last blow with a powerful head-butt or a skull-crushing kick to the skull.

You’ve got your typical amazing samurai with the style of the Swordsman. Slice through your enemies with ease while wielding a katana with both hands. You can even perform a cool finishing move that lets you throw your opponent with a strike to the stomach.

Shockingly enough, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio brought a Western weapon to the samurai era of Japan. If you’ve ever wanted to become a gunslinger during that time period, now is your chance. Pull off smooth moves with a revolver by shooting single shots or firing several rounds in rapid succession as a Gunman in Like a Dragon: Ishin.

Last but not least, you won’t give your enemies a chance to breathe when you master the Wild Dancer style. Move as fast as lighting while plowing through foes with your revolver and sword. This combat style is definitely innovative, as it merges the Western and Eastern weapons.
