The more, the better.

You can’t build a flourishing kingdom without increasing the population in Age Of Empires 2. Having more villagers and army units is vital in the game. Although having a huge population doesn’t necessarily mean a developing empire, it opens huge potential for faster growth. Having the luxury of creating army units for defense or offense and more people to extract resources.

Before you look to increase the population of your town, you need to meet a few requirements. This will help in the growth and stability of your empire.

Collect ample Wood and Food, before you look to increase the population of your empire. Although there are other resources, we recommend gathering at least the two primary ones first. The amount will depend on the age of your civilization and your requirements.

Once you have a buffer in resources, select a villager and order them to build a house. You can build multiple houses in a row. Also, employing multiple villagers to the same building site will speed up the process. One house will provide a five-population increase. You will probably have to build multiple houses as you play through the match.

Make sure to spread out the houses within your empire. This will make it harder for the opponent to restrict your population by destroying the houses.
