One of the cool things about Pokemon Legends: Arceus is how it provides some insight into how people caught and managed Pokemon before Silph Co. developed the modern Pokeball. The first Pokeballs had a somewhat steampunk design, using an apricorn as a base and a piece of Tumblestone to give it its unusual properties. Of course, just because Pokeballs were only just invented in the game’s time period doesn’t mean nobody’s innovating with the design. Here are all of the Pokeball types in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
There are ten types of Pokeballs available in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, divided into four general categories: standard, weighted, distance, and special.
- Standard Pokeballs are the same ones used in the present day; varying catch rates, no gimmicks.
- Weighted Pokeballs don’t fly as far when you throw them, but if you catch a Pokemon unawares with one, your catch rate will improve dramatically.
- Distance Pokeballs fly much farther than standard balls and with a relatively straight trajectory, making them ideal for catching Pokemon from far away. They also provide a catch bonus when used on flying or floating Pokemon.
- Special Pokeballs are exclusively used to catch a specific Pokemon during the game’s main story.
