Pichu is part of a sort of sub-category of Pokemon known as baby Pokemon. Originally introduced in generation II, baby Pokemon served as pre-evolved states of established Pokemon, which Pichu was to Pikachu, for example. Much like Pikachu itself (but not Raichu for some reason), Pichu has become something of a secondary mascot to the franchise, usually used for cuter, more kid-friendly stuff. Whether you want to catch one for its own sake or just want a Pikachu, here’s where to find Pichu in Pokemon Legends Arceus.
Where to Find Pichu in Pokemon Legends Arceus
Pichu can actually be encountered fairly early in the game, as it appears in the game’s first area, the Obsidian Fieldlands. Within the Fieldlands, there are a few different spots it can pop up, including Nature’s Pantry and Floaro Gardens. However, they don’t appear in groups, and their spawns aren’t static, so if you pass through and don’t see any, you might need to return to a base camp and sleep until midday to reset the spawns.
Pichus have fearful dispositions, which means if they spot you, they’ll run away instead of attempting to pick a fight. If they run too far, they’ll despawn, and if you attempt to fight them, they’ll likely run from that as well. This is why, the moment you spot a Pichu, you should attempt to find a hiding spot and lob a PokeBall at it from a distance. Luckily, since Pichu is just a baby, it’s not very resilient, so one or two regular PokeBalls should hold it just fine.
If you’re looking to bring your newly-caught Pichu up the evolutionary ladder, you’ll need to start by making it like you. By using it in battle without letting it faint and feeding it EXP Candies, you’ll raise its Friendship level. Once it’s high enough, you can evolve it into a Pikachu. If you want to evolve it again into a Raichu, all you need is a Thunder Stone, which you can get by smashing shaking ore deposits, searching in Space Time Distortions, or trading Merit Points for one at the Item Exchange. No matter what you do, you should take pride in the fact that you’ve got your very own Pokemon mascot in Pokemon Legends Arceus.
