Everything you need to know about Lucario in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Since its introduction in generation IV, Lucario has become a weirdly consistent Pokemon throughout the franchise. Not that it’s a bad Pokemon, mind you; a martial arts dog thing that shoots energy blasts is inherently awesome. But it frequently receives top billing in trailers and promotional art for new projects, right alongside Pikachu. It even got to be a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate! With all of these cameos under its belt, it wouldn’t be surprising for Lucario to just keep showing up. So, is Lucario in Pokemon Legends: Arceus?

Is Lucario in Pokemon Legends: Arceus?

Unsurprisingly, the answer is yes, both Lucario and its pre-evolved form Riolu can be found and caught in the Hisui region in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Both of these Pokemon can be encountered at the Alabaster Icelands, specifically at the hot spring located near Icebound Falls. It does bear mentioning, however, that Lucario spawns are rather rare, so if you want one, you’d have a much easier time of tracking down a Riolu and evolving it.

Both Riolu and Lucario have aggressive dispositions, so the best way to catch either of them would be to hide in some grass, bait them close with a berry, and then try to peg them with a Poke Ball from behind. Make sure to stay in the grass even after you hit them, as they may break loose.

How to Evolve Riolo into Lucario

Once you catch a Riolu, you’ll need to make it like you, as its evolution is dependent on its Friendship level. Just use it in battle a lot without letting it faint and feed it some EXP Candy, and it should warm up to you fairly quickly. When its Friendship is sufficiently high, you can activate its evolution into Lucario, though bear in mind that this evolution only works during the day for some reason, so you might need to go rest at a camp first.

Incidentally, there is also an Alpha Lucario that makes its territory around the Icebound Falls, but since it’s level 70, a good 30 levels higher than most of the Pokemon around there, it’s best avoided until much later.
